Dear Parents,

Welcome to Term Two.

The students have settled in well, and it was wonderful to see everyone back on campus, smiling and enjoying each other’s company after the term break.

Last Friday we celebrated Campus Administration Day. I would like to take this time to acknowledge Mrs. Bennett — thank you for being the glue that holds us all together. Your hard work, quick thinking and good humour brighten our days and keep everything running smoothly.

We also held a morning tea to celebrate our amazing mothers and grandmothers. It was lovely to see everyone braving the cool wind and later joining us in the Primary classroom, where the students proudly shared their work. It was a truly enjoyable morning.

During Mathematics this term, we have explored number, place value, and symmetry. Through hands-on activities and engaging tasks, students have been building their understanding while having lots of fun along the way. It has been a great start to our maths learning this term!

This term in Science, Primary students are exploring all things matter. To begin our learning, we made oobleck and investigated how it behaves when touched in different ways. We discovered that when oobleck is touched softly, it flows like a liquid, but when force is applied, it becomes hard like a solid. It was amazing to observe and identify that oobleck can act as both a solid and a liquid, depending on the type of force applied.

Last term, OneSchool Global launched Precious Cargo, a new global safety campaign for all volunteer bus drivers. The campaign includes a powerful safety film that highlights the responsibility our drivers carry every day and reinforces key expectations around seatbelts, fatigue, distractions, speed, and substances.

Our drivers play a vital role in keeping students safe, and this campaign supports them with clear, consistent safety standards across all 20 countries in our network.

For our students, please remember the important role that you play as a passenger on our buses.

Here are a few simple ways you can make a real difference:

* Wear your seatbelt properly every time you’re on the bus

* Stay seated while the bus is moving

* Keep noise at a reasonable level so your driver can concentrate

* Avoid distracting the driver – their focus keeps everyone safe

* Look out for each other when getting on and off the bus

The Learning to Learn Framework is a transformative approach to education that creates self-directed learners equipped for the 21st century. It enables students to take ownership of their learning journey, shifting from passive recipients to active participants in their own education.

Ultimately, the Learning to Learn Framework prepares students to adapt and succeed in a rapidly changing world, cultivating lifelong learners ready to navigate uncertainty and contribute meaningfully to society.
