As we come to the end of Week 2 of the Term, I would like to congratulate our students and families on an excellent start to the new term and semester. It has been wonderful to see our campus quickly return to its calm, purposeful and positive learning environment. Our students have settled back into their routines exceptionally well and have embraced the opportunities that a new term brings. Thank you to our families for your continued partnership and support in helping students arrive each day ready to learn. Together, we continue to build a culture where high expectations and strong relationships allow every student to flourish.

A significant focus for us at the beginning of this term has been reinforcing our campus standards and expectations. These high standards underpin everything we do and create an environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. It has been pleasing to see students taking pride in their presentation by wearing their uniform correctly and representing our campus so well. We have also placed a strong emphasis on students arriving prepared for every lesson with the correct equipment, resources and a readiness to learn. Being organised is a fundamental skill that supports academic success, and we greatly appreciate the support of our families in reinforcing these expectations at home. When students are prepared, they are able to make the most of every learning opportunity.

One of the highlights of the fortnight has been the continued success of our Year 5 and 6 Transition Program. The maturity and enthusiasm displayed by our students has been outstanding as they begin learning about the expectations and opportunities that await them in Secondary School. It has been encouraging to see them embrace new routines, develop their independence and approach each activity with curiosity and confidence.

Today marked another exciting milestone as our Year 5 and 6 students participated in their very first Zoom lesson in the Secondary Learning Centre. This experience was an outstanding success and provided students with an authentic glimpse into the learning experiences they will encounter in Secondary. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Mr Liam Mole and Miss Oriyla Nelson for the guidance, encouragement and support they provided throughout the session. Their expertise and willingness to invest in our younger students have helped make this an engaging and valuable experience, and we look forward to seeing the Transition Program continue to grow throughout the term.

I would also like to acknowledge an important staffing change within our campus administration. Recently, Mrs Stacey Kajewski tendered her resignation as our Campus Office Administrator. Stacey has made an extraordinary contribution to our campus over many years and has been an integral part of the OneSchool Global community. Her professionalism, dedication, kindness and unwavering commitment to supporting students, families and staff have left a lasting impact on our campus. Stacey has consistently gone above and beyond in her role, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed. On behalf of our entire campus community, I would like to sincerely thank Stacey for her outstanding service and wish her every success and happiness in the next chapter of her journey.

While we are saddened to see Stacey move on, we are equally delighted to officially congratulate Mrs Isobel Moore on her appointment as our Campus Office Administrator. Izzy has been acting in this role for several months and has demonstrated exceptional leadership, organisation and care throughout that time. She has embraced every challenge with professionalism and positivity, ensuring the smooth operation of our campus administration while continuing to provide outstanding support to our students, families and staff. We are excited to see Izzy continue leading our administration team and know she will build on the excellent foundation already established.

As we continue through Term 3, I encourage all students to maintain the excellent habits they have established over these first two weeks. Consistent attendance, punctuality, strong organisation and a willingness to seek support when needed are all key ingredients for success. Families also play a vital role in this partnership by continuing to encourage positive routines at home, checking that students have the necessary equipment for each day, and maintaining open communication with the campus whenever support is needed.

Thank you once again for your continued support of our campus and the high standards we share. I am excited for what lies ahead this term and look forward to seeing our students continue to grow in confidence, independence and academic success as we work together throughout Semester 2.

This week, our Primary Year 5 and 6 students continued along their transition pathway, spending time in the Secondary Learning Centre becoming familiar with the different learning spaces, including the Studios, Maker Space, Collaborative, Semi-Collaborative and Focus Spaces.

Students also heard from Mr Easthope, who discussed expectations for laptop use during classes and study lessons, providing valuable insight into what secondary learning looks like.

On Tuesday 28th July, Primary students visited Windy Acres Lavender Farm to learn more about bees and their importance in our daily lives.

Students were given the opportunity to investigate types of bees, their life cycle, their roles within the hive and how pollination occurs.

During the workshop, each student made a bee hotel from repurposed mugs, sticks and clay, and even got to try some lavender honey or honeycomb.

Year 7 students have commenced Assignment 3: Flavours of the World and made damper this week while exploring traditional Australian cooking methods.

Year 8 students created their first Bento Box as part of this term's challenge to design and prepare their own healthy lunchbox-inspired meal.

Year 9 & 10 students are exploring contemporary food trends, with a focus on food styling and presentation. Their colourful and nutritious Wellness Bowls were a great success and thoroughly enjoyed.

Following our announcement earlier this week/last week, we would like to remind parents that we’re transitioning to Flexischools, our new canteen online ordering and payment solution on Monday 10th August .

This exciting initiative supports our transition towards a primarily cashless canteen service, making ordering and payments simpler, safer, and more convenient for our school community.

We’ll provide information on how to set up your Flexischools account along with training and support materials in the weeks ahead.

The Green Lions have claimed the 2026 Global House Cup Season 1 title , securing their sixth championship since the competition began in 2017.

From January to June, students across North America, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Argentina, and Europe demonstrated the qualities of the OSG Quality Student Persona , with staff submitting 216,398 recognitions celebrating students who went above and beyond. These submissions highlighted attributes such as Living the Values, Being Self-Directed, Taking Ownership, Solving Problems, and Maintaining a Positive Attitude.

The competition was one of the closest in Global House Cup history, with just 227 points separating first and third place . The final standings were:

We ended Term 2 on a fantastic high with our highly anticipated Activities Day.

The excitement began on Thursday afternoon, with students working together in their House teams to design flags and create impromptu chants. This gave each team the opportunity to build team spirit before putting the finishing touches on their preparations the following morning.

Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of challenges that tested their teamwork, problem-solving skills and determination. The day concluded with a timed challenge circuit and an exciting four-way tug-o-war.

While the competition was fierce and every team gave their best effort, there could only be one winner. Congratulations to War Headz for taking out the title and earning their spot on the Toowoomba Challenge Cup.
