Dear Parents,

As we reach the midpoint of Term 1, it is fitting to reflect briefly on the “Grand Opening Ceremony of our new OSG Sydney campus. The event itself was a wonderful celebration, and it was a privilege to welcome members of the broader OneSchool Global community, parents, staff and students to mark this important milestone together.

More importantly, the ceremony symbolised the beginning of a new chapter for OSG Sydney. Our new campus infrastructure has been intentionally designed to reflect and support the bespoke Learn to Learn approach that underpins our educational model. The spaces our students now occupy — from learning studios to learning centres — are purpose-built to support independent thinking, collaboration, and focused academic engagement.

Education, like many disciplines, continually evolves. The reality is that there is rarely an “absolute truth” when it comes to pedagogy. Approaches to teaching and learning shift over time as research, technology and societal needs develop. The challenge for schools is to remain thoughtful and responsive — seeking the approach and learning environment that is most relevant and effective for students at a particular point in time. At OSG Sydney, we believe the current Learn to Learn model, now complemented by our custom-designed facilities, places our students in an exceptionally strong position to develop the habits, independence and academic capabilities needed for long-term success.

From an operational perspective, the opening ceremony also marked the final stages of our relocation journey. After months of planning and transition, it has been incredibly encouraging to see how quickly students and staff have settled into the new environment. Daily routines are becoming increasingly established, and the campus is already developing the rhythm that supports both rich academic learning and healthy social engagement among our students.

As we move through the term, we have also begun the first cycle of academic goal setting for the year. I would like to sincerely thank the many parents who have already been engaging in conversations with their children about their MAP results and academic goals. We firmly believe that the partnership between students, parents and the school form the foundation of sustained growth and development over time.

Parents play a powerful role in reinforcing the discipline required for students to pursue their goals. Simple check-ins around weekly learning goals, encouragement to remain focused on daily progress, and prompting students to book tutorials when support is required can make a meaningful difference. When these small routines are maintained consistently, they help students build the self-management skills that are so central to the Learn-to-Learn approach.

To further strengthen the partnership between the school and parents, we will be hosting an upcoming Parent Webinar on Goal Setting on Thursday, 12 March at 4:30pm. During this session we will discuss the important role parents play in supporting their children’s academic goal setting and how this aligns with the systems we use at school. We strongly encourage all parents to join this session.

Thank you once again for the encouragement, trust and partnership you continue to show in supporting the work of OSG Sydney. Together, we are building a learning environment that will serve our students well not only this year, but for many years to come.

On Friday, 4th March, primary students thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Democracy: Our House, Our Voice Program as part of their Humanities learning. The incursion supported the Humanities assignment and gave students the opportunity to explore how Australia’s democracy has developed.

During the session, students engaged in an information presentation about Old Parliament House and learnt about the traditions of Australia’s parliamentary system. They also explored significant historical events and discovered influential people who have helped shape our democracy.

Through collaborative discussion and reflection, students learned from one another while deepening their understanding of their rights and responsibilities as citizens. The activity also helped students recognise the important role young people play in Australia’s democratic society, building their confidence as informed citizens.

Today, Monday 9th March, marks the start of the Primary Swimming Program which will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

The program will run over two weeks and conclude on Friday 20th March.

At OneSchool Global AU, all Year 10 students complete the Certificate III in Business as part of their curriculum. This qualification equips students with practical skills in administration, communication, and workplace technology - essential tools for success in senior study, part-time work, and future careers.

Completing the Certificate III in Business helps students develop confidence, organisation, and a professional mindset. It provides a real-world context for learning and gives every student a head start in understanding the business world.

We are proud to offer this program as a core part of Year 10, ensuring all students gain these valuable skills and are prepared for the next stage of their education and beyond. Students who complete all requirements will be awarded the national qualification - Certificate III in Business. Students who are only able to complete part of the qualification will still receive a statement of attainment, providing credit for the units they do achieve.

Your encouragement at home can make a real difference. We encourage parents to support their young person by discussing their learning, celebrating achievements, and encouraging them to apply the skills they are developing. Together, we can help every student succeed and make the most of this valuable qualification.

As part of an initiative to support student wellbeing at school, the SLT have introduced a Pickleball Tournament for the high school students that takes place during lunchtimes. It is now in full swing, with the boy's round 1 and 2 tournaments drawing to a close in the last 2 weeks.

Congratulations to Orlando & Jay, Morrison & Austin, Oscar & Henley, Morgan & Quin, Liam & Connor, George & William, Darcy & Silas, and Manfred & Hartley for making it through to Round 3!

The girl’s tournament will be commencing this week which is highly anticipated. We have 3 intense rounds left and the winning pairs will receive a coveted trophy and their names in OSG Sydney history! We wish the best of luck to the remaining teams!

We are also very excited to announce that there will be a Primary Pickleball Tournament beginning next term. Further information will be announced in the coming weeks.

Students, families and a host of special guests came together to celebrate the official opening of OneSchool Global’s flagship Australian campus at a special welcome event in Sydney on Wednesday, 25th of February.

Purpose-built around our learning to learn framework, the new Sydney campus which opened for the 2026 school year, features modern facilities and specialist learning areas that empower teachers and inspire students to take the lead in their education.

The new spaces are designed to support a range of learning styles, from collaborative group work to quiet independent study, with a clear focus on the use of technology to pursue academic excellence.

Celebrating a new era for OneSchool Global (OSG) in Sydney

With close to 1,000 guests in attendance, the official welcome event was about more than just the opening of a new campus. It gave the school community a chance to reflect on OSG’s journey from humble beginnings in 1994 in Meadowbank, to today's global school operating in 20 countries, across 123 campuses with more than 8,000 students.

The event was attended by the State Member for Epping, Ms Monica Tudehope and the Federal Member for Parramatta, Dr Andrew Charlton who officially opened the new campus at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the day. It was a full-circle moment for Ms Tudehope, who visited the school when the first sod was turned on the new site back in December 2024.

“It’s incredible to see what has been achieved in just over a year since construction commenced. As a passionate advocate for quality education, it’s terrific to see firsthand how OneSchool Global’s student-directed learning philosophy has informed and inspired the new building in an innovative way. Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this tremendous space to life,” Ms Tudehope said.

Dr Charlton praised the school’s new facilities and approach to self-directed learning

“I'm extremely impressed with the facilities at OneSchool Global which are truly world-class. The pedagogy is innovative and focused on values and life skills, and the students are thriving as a result. Congratulations to the founders of this school on your vision and what you have achieved in the past 32 years.”

Purpose-built for performance

OSG’s Regional Director of Education, Paul Maher, says the new campus is more than just bricks and mortar, it’s symbolic of the school’s pursuit of improved academic performance.

“Having worked at OSG for 21 years, I’m really proud of the strong learning outcomes we consistently achieve, but we’re not resting on our laurels. We’re focused on having the talent, systems and structures to produce life-ready students who leave school with the best possible chance of success. The Sydney campus is the best learning environment I’ve seen and I’m excited about what students can achieve here with the support of their passionate, dedicated educators.”

It has been a smooth settlement into the new school year and the SLT would like to reflect on the positive start that both students and staff have had so far. The brand-new state of the art school and new uniform have implemented high standards that we are striving to meet as a team and maintain throughout the year – your support would be greatly appreciated so we can make this year the best yet!

Learning to Learn:

Our first goal as a team is to ensure each student has a detailed plan for each study period. We aim to track this by doing regular check-ins with students during their study periods.

Marketing and Communications:

Our goal is to ensure that information is conveyed effectively and efficiently by being the line of communication between parents, students and teachers. We will do this through sending out informative emails and surveys to improve our communication efforts.

Wellbeing:

The wellbeing team is here to help each and every student through the highs and lows of 2026. As mentioned, we've started on a high with a brand-new school and uniform, and we aim to continue this streak throughout the year.

Events:

The events team is aiming to bring the excitement to 2026. We work with each team to ensure all events are enjoyable and run as smoothly as possible. Throughout the year we are striving to conduct new, and exciting activities, that have never been done before! We have the athletics carnival coming up on the 23rd of March – make sure you’re training hard!

Recently our teachers met with every student to review their MAP results and set personalised goals for the months ahead. These conversations helped students to take ownership of their learning, understand what they’re working toward, and build confidence as they grow.

We’re incredibly proud of our students for the dedication they’ve shown and thank you for supporting them at home and cheering them on every step of the way.

Please keep an eye out for your MAP Family Report which will be sent home via email on Friday, 13th March.

NAPLAN assesses Literacy and Numeracy of all students Nationally and this data is tracked and used to help determine and develop curriculum initiatives.

In our setting, we will use the data from these tests to help further expand our understanding of our learners and use it alongside the data we receive from our MAP testing.

Each Campus within the AU Region will be undertaking the testing at the same time-see schedule below.

All students in the above year levels are required to participate-please discuss any special arrangements or concerns with your Campus Principal who may be able to assist.

Students do not need to prepare for NAPLAN tests-we will be completing some practice tests to assist students in the use of the technology. We do however encourage parents to support the process by avoiding any unnecessary absences and to encourage their child/ren to always do their best.
