Over the past fortnight, I have been incredibly proud of the way our students have approached their learning and school activities with determination and effort.

Success is not always measured purely by academic results, but by the willingness to try, persevere, and continually improve.

Every day we see students challenging themselves in the classroom, and supporting one another to achieve their personal best.

As a school community, we want our students to understand that effort is one of the most important ingredients for success.

When students apply themselves consistently, they build confidence, resilience, and a sense of pride in their achievements.

We encourage all students to continue embracing challenges, learning from mistakes, and recognising that growth comes through persistence and hard work.

Oobleck in Primary Science

To introduce our new Science Assignment in Term 2 - “What the matter?”

Primary students made and explored the properties of Oobleck, a goopy substance that behaves both like a liquid and a solid.

Students shared what they already knew about the three states of matter; Solid, Liquid and Gas, and used the experiment to identify how in this substance, it is possible to be both a liquid and a solid at the same time.

It was a lot of messy fun (the best kind) and a great way to kick start our Science Assignment.

Our Year 5 students had a special opportunity this term to take part in their own Music Show & Tell, after missing out on the event last term.

They embraced the moment with enthusiasm, sharing a thoughtful mix of performances and presentations that highlighted both their musical skills and personal connections to music.

Several students performed on piano and didgeridoo, showing growing confidence and expression as they played for their classmates. Adding to the richness of the showcase, two students presented family instruments—a beautifully aged violin and a guitar that had been passed down through generations—sharing the stories behind them and what they mean to their families.

It was a meaningful and engaging session that celebrated not only performance but also the history and pride that music can carry.

Despite an unexpected technology hiccup today, our Year 8 Mathematics students demonstrated outstanding resilience and adaptability.

With CANVAS unavailable, the class quickly shifted to traditional paper-based activities—and embraced the change with enthusiasm.

Taking advantage of the beautiful winter sunshine, the lesson even moved outdoors, creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

It was fantastic to see students so readily prepared to learn anytime and anywhere, maintaining focus and commitment regardless of the circumstances.

Their flexibility and positive attitude are a true reflection of the strong learning culture we continue to build.

On Friday May 8, OSG Perth held a Mother’s Day Event to celebrate the mothers, grandmothers and women who play a special role in our students’ lives.

The event was a great opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the important role these women play in our students’ lives. It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout, with more than 70 attendees joining us for the morning.

A big thank you to Narelle Dartnall, Sarah Wibberley and Emily Draffin for all of their hard work in making the Mother’s Day morning tea and stalls such a success.

Wishing all of our mothers and families a joyful Mother’s Day this Sunday, filled with appreciation and time to rest.

Thank you for all that you do and for the positive impact you have on our students, both at home and within our school community.

On 22 May, all students at OneSchool Global will take part in Mission Nutrition, a full day wellbeing event delivered across all campuses worldwide.

Mission Nutrition helps students understand how food and hydration support energy, focus, health, and learning.

The day is interactive and age appropriate, with students working through guided activities led by their teachers.

This is not a normal school day.

Students will take part in hands on learning designed to build practical skills they can use at school and at home.
