Update from the Campus Principal

Northam students are currently taking part in an exciting Tutorial Challenge in the lead-up to exams. The goal is for students to complete 500 tutorials before the final day of exams. If the target is achieved, an ice cream truck will visit the campus during lunch, with all students receiving a reward for their efforts.

We are incredibly impressed with the number of students already engaging in tutorials and making the most of this opportunity. In particular, it has been fantastic to see students proactively reaching out to their exam subject teachers for advice and guidance on how best to prepare.

The updated challenge graphic highlights some of our leading contributors so far, and the momentum across the campus has been excellent.

As parents, there are several ways you can support your child during this challenge:

* Ask your child regularly what tutorials they have booked and which teachers they are working with
* Sit with your child and have them show you how to book a tutorial
* Encourage them to seek advice on exam preparation and follow up on the feedback and preparation tasks they receive

It is important to remember that tutorials are not only for students who are struggling. Tutorials provide valuable one-to-one time with teachers where students can:

* Clarify classwork and concepts
* Strengthen understanding of assignments
* Receive feedback on completed work
* Discuss next steps for assessment tasks
* Review completed tests and assessments
* Build confidence ahead of exams

Our aim is to make tutorials a normal and valued part of student learning at Northam, helping every student give themselves the best possible opportunity for success.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Primary Sports Carnival Recap

Our Primary Athletics Carnival, held at WA Athletics Stadium on Wednesday 20th May, was a fantastic success. Blessed with lovely weather, students enjoyed a full day of activity in excellent conditions.

It was wonderful to see such awesome participation across all year levels, with students demonstrating outstanding enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the day. The level of competition was high, with many impressive performances on display.

We were also grateful for the fantastic support from parents, whose encouragement helped create a positive and energetic atmosphere.

Well done to the Lions for earning the most points at the primary event.

Overall, it was a memorable event that showcased the spirit, effort, and teamwork of our primary school community.

Primary Science

During Science, we have been exploring the concept of matter, with a focus on solids, liquids and gases.

Students have participated in a range of hands-on experiments to deepen their understanding of how different materials behave.

These practical experiences have helped students develop their scientific thinking and build a clearer understanding of the properties of matter.
