I hope everyone enjoyed a restful and refreshing term break. It has been wonderful to see our campuses come to life again as students and staff return for what promises to be another exciting and productive term. I would like to congratulate everyone on such a positive start and thank our school communities for the enthusiasm and commitment already being shown across Victoria and Tasmania.
Celebrating Our Principals
Today 31st July 2026 we celebrate Principal Day, providing an opportunity to recognise the outstanding leadership of our Principals across the region.
I would like to sincerely thank each of our principals for their dedication, care and commitment to creating positive learning environments where students can thrive. Their leadership plays a significant role in the success of our campuses and the wellbeing of our school communities.
I would also like to acknowledge the many staff and Student Leadership Teams who have made the day special for their principals. These acts of appreciation reflect the strong culture of respect and support that exists throughout OneSchool Global.
Thank You for Supporting Parent Teacher Interviews
A heartfelt thank you to all parents, students and staff who participated in our recent Parent Teacher Interviews.
These conversations are an important opportunity to celebrate achievements, discuss progress and establish goals for the remainder of the year. The partnership between families and our campuses is a vital part of student success, and I appreciate the time and effort everyone invested in these valuable discussions.
As we move into the second half of the year, I encourage all students to reflect on the feedback received and continue working towards their personal and academic goals.
Supporting Our Year 12 Students
Term 3 marks the beginning of the final full term of schooling for our Year 12 students.
This is an exciting and significant milestone as students prepare for their final examinations and future pathways. While the months ahead will undoubtedly be busy, they also provide opportunities for growth, achievement and reflection.
To all Year 12 students across the region, I wish you every success as you commence this important stage of your educational journey. Your teachers, families and campus communities are all behind you and are committed to supporting you throughout the remainder of the year.
We are also looking forward to the upcoming Year 12 Motivational Day in Melbourne on 25 August. This promises to be a fantastic event, providing students with encouragement, inspiration and practical strategies as they prepare for the final stretch of their secondary education.
Welcoming New Leadership
I am pleased to share that James Mason will commence as the new Campus Principal of Nathalia Campus on 10 August.
We look forward to welcoming James to the Victoria and Tasmania region and wish him every success as he begins his leadership journey with the Nathalia community.
I would also like to thank Chris Sanders, Campus Principal of Bendigo Campus, for his leadership and support of Nathalia during the transition period.
In Tasmania, I would like to acknowledge Jeremy Dunham for his continued support in overseeing both Launceston and Hobart Campuses following the departure of Therese Turner Jones. His commitment and leadership have been greatly appreciated.
I would also like to thank Therese for her contribution to OneSchool Global and wish her all the very best for the future.

Looking Ahead
As always, I am encouraged by the positive spirit, dedication and sense of community that exists across our region. The achievements of our students and the commitment of our staff continue to make Victoria and Tasmania a wonderful place to learn and work.
Next week I will be meeting with our Regional Heads of Department in Sydney as we continue planning and collaborating to ensure our campuses receive the best possible support for student learning and wellbeing.
Throughout the term, I look forward to visiting campuses across Victoria and Tasmania, connecting with students, staff and families, and celebrating the many successes taking place throughout our region.

Principal's Report
It has been a wonderful start to Term 3, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time supporting the Nathalia Campus as Acting Campus Principal. Over the past two weeks, I have had the opportunity to get to know the students and staff, and I have been incredibly impressed by the positive culture, strong sense of community, and commitment to learning that exists across the campus.
I would like to sincerely thank our staff, students, and parents for the warm welcome I have received. It has made my transition into the role both enjoyable and rewarding. I have particularly enjoyed working alongside our new Campus Support Team, Warwick Buchner, Rolf Buchner, and Michael Mathews, who have already made a valuable contribution to the campus.
One of the most impressive aspects of my arrival has been seeing the completed Campus Modernisation Program. The campus looks fantastic, and these improvements have created an outstanding environment for learning and wellbeing. It is something the entire Nathalia community can be proud of.
I have also greatly enjoyed working with our Student Leadership Team (SLT). This week, they did an excellent job leading assembly and celebrating the many achievements of our students. The leadership, confidence, and professionalism they displayed was outstanding.
A key initiative introduced by the SLT this week in assembly is the use of study plans on OneNote. During assembly, they shared exemplars of high-quality study plans and explained how students can use them to make the most of their study periods. To help embed this practice and encourage strong study habits, the SLT has launched a two-week competition. Two boys and two girls will be selected as winners and rewarded with a hot chip lunch for demonstrating the most effective and well-developed study plans. It is wonderful to see our student leaders driving initiatives that support academic success and student accountability.
Next week will be a busy and exciting one across the campus. Our Year 11 and 12 students will be undertaking a number of important SACs, while the VCE Assembly on Monday will provide valuable information and support as students continue preparing for their assessments.
On Tuesday, all Year 10 students, along with other students who have nominated themselves, will participate in the Australian Mathematics Competition. We wish all participants the very best and look forward to celebrating their efforts and achievements.
Wednesday will see our Grade 5 students travel to Bendigo to participate in the OSG Aware sessions, providing valuable opportunities for learning and connection with students from other campuses. On Thursday, our Year 11 students will take part in Driver Awareness Training, an important program that helps prepare young people to become safe and responsible road users.
Finally, I am delighted to share that we will be welcoming our new Campus Principal, Mr James Mason, on 10 August. Mr Frank Vetere will be onsite during Mr Mason's first week to assist with the transition, and I will continue visiting Nathalia throughout the remainder of the term to support Mr Mason's induction and help him settle into the role. We are excited to have him joining the Nathalia community and look forward to the leadership and experience he will bring to the campus.
Thank you once again to everyone at Nathalia Campus for making me feel so welcome. It has been a pleasure working alongside such supportive staff, engaged students, and committed families, and I look forward to continuing to be part of the campus community throughout the term.
