Thank you to all of the volunteers who joined us on Tuesday evening for an important session on child protection and safeguarding at OSG. I hope the session helped you to feel more confident in how we can all work together to keep our students safe – in school and out of school. For those who were unable to attend, please reach out to Mrs. Katena, who will provide you with the necessary next steps. As a reminder, if you have any concerns around the safety of one of our students, please do not hesitate to contact me. As the principal, I am your first point of contact.

To meet the HSC minimum standard, our students need to achieve a level 3 or 4 in the following short online tests before they are awarded the Higher School Certificate: Writing, Numeracy, and Reading. Next Wednesday, our Year 10 students will practise the HSC Minimum Standards Tests. These practice tests are beneficial in helping our students know how the tests work, and identify any gaps prior to sitting the actual tests on Wednesday 1 July. We are thankful to Mrs. Molla who spends a lot of time and effort in helping our students be successful. I ask that Year 10 students please prioritise attendance on 24 July and 1 July.

It has been wonderful to see our 7-11 students so diligent in their study this week as they prepared for their examinations. Likewise, their focus and dedication to each examination shows that the work we have been doing as a campus to improve learning culture is paying off. Each student participated in peer sessions, study groups, individual focus periods, and tutorials with either teachers on campus or their remote teachers.

Today I had the pleasure of seeing our Primary choir rehearse one of their songs for the upcoming Activity Day. It was very good to see the students singing without lyrics and incorporating hand-motions. We are so thankful for the professional experience Mrs. Phillips has provided them. There will be an end-of-term assembly on 2 July at 1:15, where the choir will showcase their work so far this year. We also hope to see as many of you as possible cheering on our students in Condobolin on 3 July.

This week in Mathematics, Year 3/4 Teal explored the concept of length and measurement. On Wednesday, students enjoyed a double lesson focused on finding the perimeter of different shapes. Using hands-on materials such as string and pegs, they worked collaboratively to measure and calculate the distance around a variety of shapes. This practical activity helped students build a deeper understanding of perimeter while making learning engaging and fun!

Students in 3/4 Gold have been building strong confidence in Maths, moving from mastering multiplication strategies to applying them in larger equations. They’ve now begun hands‑on investigations into perimeter and area, exploring how these concepts work in real spaces. We found out that our classroom floor area fits 299 A3 pieces of paper!

In English, we have been practising note‑taking and summarising to prepare for writing their own information reports.

Our cross‑curricular learning has focused on map features, and students are now creating their own layered maps, combining creativity with geographical understanding.

5/6C worked with Mrs Kadrian in the kitchen, producing delicious Nut Free Granola Bars!

Students in Years 7–10 have been actively engaged in their recent Physical Education tennis unit, demonstrating enthusiasm, improving skills, and a strong commitment to participation. The students received specialised instruction from coaches supplied by Blackheath tennis club. Throughout the program, students developed their understanding of fundamental tennis techniques, including forehand and backhand strokes, serving, footwork, and positioning on the court.

It has been particularly pleasing to see students grow in confidence as they applied these skills in modified games and match play. Many students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, showing respect for opponents, working cooperatively in doubles play, and encouraging their peers

Overall, the tennis program has been a valuable opportunity for students to develop both their physical skills and personal attributes such as resilience, responsibility, and teamwork.

On Wednesday 30th June, Year 7 Food Tech class will be giving all students a free muffin at lunchtime. They have been busy making muffins in their Food Tech practical classes and would like to share them with you.

OSG Persona Program 2026: Feedback month starts now!

The 2026 persona program, OneSchool Global’s annual feedback and development program will kick off in July across OSG’s Southern Hemisphere campuses. The Persona Program is an important activity on the OSG calendar supporting staff to reflect on their practice, build on strengths and continue to grow.

The program runs across three phases:

· Phase 1: Feedback 20 - 31 July 2026

· Phase 2: Development & Goal Setting 17 August - 11 September 2026

· Phase 3: Growth 14 September - end October 2026

Parents are an important part of this program. If selected to participate to share your feedback, you will receive an email on 20 July from Qualtrics asking you to complete a short questionnaire on your Campus Principal, teachers or other team members of the campus. All responses are confidential and reviewed alongside other feedback to ensure balance and fairness.

Thank you so much to all of our volunteers who drive our school vans each day. A special shout out to those driving Lithgow vans during the closure of the Mt. Victoria Pass. The additional 25 minutes – 1 hour and 20 minutes it is taking to get to and from school does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
