A team’s real success isn’t simply measured by the numbers at the end of the month. It is measured by something far more meaningful, how deeply the people behind those numbers feel they belong. When there is a shared purpose that inspires everyone, daily tasks gain significance, and pressure begins to give way to genuine fulfillment. At the end of the day, what remains is the powerful sense that we are building something that truly matters.
This term, I feel this shared purpose is alive and evident across our campus.
Our student leadership team has shown remarkable initiative and compassion through their efforts to organise a unique event to raise funds for the RCH, demonstrating not only leadership but a deep commitment to helping others. Our House Captains continue to inspire their teams, working tirelessly to bring energy, unity, and synchronicity to house events building both spirit and connection.
Behind the scenes, our dedicated library team, Linda Murray, Denise Earl, Erica Williams, Rosalie Weeks and Amy Kidd, have achieved something truly significant in establishing the primary library system. Their work has created a vibrant learning hub that will benefit students for years to come.
We are also deeply grateful to our volunteer drivers, who transport our students each day. Their quiet dedication ensures that students arrive safely and ready to learn, and their contribution is an essential part of the care and support that defines our campus.
We also see this shared purpose in action through our CAs working closely with the CP and DCP, our Board’s ongoing commitment to the CMP project, and our staff’s focused efforts to close the gap in student learning. Each group, each individual, contributes to a larger vision, one that prioritises growth, care, and excellence.
In many schools, over a thousand students walk through the gates each day, and it is not uncommon for names to go unknown, between students and even among teachers. That is not who we are. We are a Oneschool community where connection matters, where each child is known, valued, and supported.
Together, through our shared purpose, we are always aiming to creating a safe, happy, inclusive, and quality learning environment for your children. And in doing so, we are not just achieving outcomes, we are building effective campus teams that truly belongs to everyone within it.

As we close off the newsletter, I would like to acknowledge our Campus Leadership Team—Mr Nat Kelly, Mr Nathan Bricknell, Ms Nga Huynh, Mr Mark Chirnside, and Mr Tim Millott—for their tireless effort, dedication, and support throughout what has been a very busy and productive term.
I wish all members of our community a safe and happy holiday break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back to campus on Tuesday the 28 April.

Food Tech Gourmet Hampers - Created by Tamar Chirnside

Students stepped into the role of food designers, exploring both the art and science of food preservation. Through hands-on learning, they investigated how ingredients can be transformed using techniques such as pickling, jam-making, dehydration, and chutney production. These skills were then showcased in a thoughtfully presented Gourmet Hamper. The students created their own labels for each of their products that was included in their hampers.

Beyond creating high-quality gourmet products, students also developed an understanding of sustainability and responsible decision-making. The project highlighted the importance of supporting ethical producers who prioritise the wellbeing of people and the planet. Sustainability, students learned, is about recognising how the choices we make today help shape a better tomorrow for our communities and environment.

Athletics day may have been a little different this year, with the weather dictating that it become an inside event. Thankyou to everyone for their resilience and ability to change plans and not let the changes affect the day. The sports were fun, the chants were loud and everyone had full tummies thanks to our wonderful volunteers. Thankyou to staff and families who helped make it awesome! CONGRATULATIONS TO YELLOW BEARS!
