PRIMARY TERM 2 WEEK 8
HIGHLIGHTS FROM WEEKS 7 & 8
SLT TERM 2 WEEK 8
Year 7 Science
Students conducted an experiment investigating the melting of ice using a Bunsen burner as a heat source. Over a 15-minute period, they measured and recorded the temperature at regular intervals to observe how it increased as the ice melted. This hands-on activity helped students explore the relationship between heat energy and changes in temperature.
Year 8 CO₂ Dragster Race Day
After weeks of designing, testing, modifying, and producing multiple prototypes, our Year 8 students finally put their CO₂ Dragsters to the test on Race Day.
The results were nothing short of spectacular. Students demonstrated outstanding creativity, problem-solving skills, resilience, and craftsmanship, producing a fleet of eye-catching dragsters that looked every bit as impressive as they performed on the track. From the first launch, it was clear that the countless hours of planning, shaping, sanding, and finishing had paid off.
Unfortunately, technical issues with the timing system meant official race times could not be recorded. While we were unable to determine a champion on the day, the excitement and enthusiasm from students proved the event was still a huge success.
Race Day 2 has already been scheduled for early next term, when these speed machines will return to the track and we will finally discover who has built the fastest dragster.
Congratulations to all Year 8 students on an incredible effort. The quality of work produced was exceptional, and they should be extremely proud of what they achieved. We can’t wait to see these beasts fly down the track again next term

OSG Persona Program 2026: Feedback month starts now!
The 2026 persona program, OneSchool Global’s annual feedback and development program will kick off in July across OSG’s Southern Hemisphere campuses. The Persona Program is an important activity on the OSG calendar supporting staff to reflect on their practice, build on strengths and continue to grow.
The program runs across three phases:
· Phase 1: Feedback 20 - 31 July 2026
· Phase 2: Development & Goal Setting 17 August - 11 September 2026
· Phase 3: Growth 14 September - end October 2026
Parents are an important part of this program. If selected to participate to share your feedback, you will receive an email on 20 July from Qualtrics asking you to complete a short questionnaire on your Campus Principal, teachers or other team members of the campus. All responses are confidential and reviewed alongside other feedback to ensure balance and fairness.
