Term 2 Week 2 Newsletter
Welcome back to Term 2. It has been wonderful to see our campus come alive again with excitement, energy and familiar faces. Capital Building works on our Primary Learning Centre and new Canteen have progressed steadily throughout the break. It is great to see the sense of anticipation building amongst our students as they look forward to the opening of our new facility in Semester 2.
This term promises many opportunities for learning, collaboration and personal growth, and we look forward to working closely with students and families to ensure another successful and meaningful term.
Administrative Professionals' Day
On behalf of the OSG Maitland staff, students and families, happy Administrative Professionals Day to Mrs Christy Farr-Forrest and Mrs Karina Bourn. We’re so grateful for everything you do. Our Campus Office Administrators are the heartbeat of our campus. They keep everything running smoothly by supporting our teams and bringing order, care, and consistency often in the face of the many and varied demands and duties of their role. Thank you for your dedication, your patience, and the countless ways you help our campus thrive.
ANZAC Day
At our first Campus assembly this term, our school community came together in recognition of ANZAC Day. Students watched an entertaining and informative video from in recognition of members of the PBCC who supported our service men and women in a range of non-combat roles major wars and conflicts throughout history. We recognise the courage and the sacrifice of these men and women and the legacy they leave for future generations.
OSG Aware
On Thursday 7th of May, we had the pleasure of once again hosting Year 7, 9 and 11 staff and students from OSG Armidale for the first OSG Aware Session for 2026. OSG Aware consists of a series of workshops and covers a range of topics which may impact the personal safety of young people. Students worked together in groups during these workshops to discuss a variety of issues and complete activities. These workshops provide a valuable opportunity to identify potential risks which may arise and develop a range of safeguarding and help seeking strategies to maintain your personal safety and wellbeing.
Thank you to the Armidale staff, students, board and chaperones for making the journey out for these workshops. We look forward to OSG Aware Session 2 in Armidale later in the year.
Primary Science States of Matter Incursion.
On Thursday this week all Primary Students took part in a Science Incursion to supports the Term 2 Science Assignment “What’s the Matter?” by giving students real-world experiences with solids, liquids and gases. Through bubbles, air pressure demonstrations and liquid nitrogen, students observed how materials change when heated or cooled. Together students were able to build their skills in identifying material properties and noticing physical changes. Students explored reversible and irreversible changes and behaviours. We hope this experience helps students make meaningful connections between key scientific concepts through clear, practical and memorable experiences.
Mission Nutrition is coming...
Mission Nutrition will launch on 22 May 2026 as a one day, global student experience delivered simultaneously across every OneSchool Global campus.
Built around an immersive mission theme created specifically for OSG students by nutrition specialist Caitlin Edmonds, the day will replace traditional lessons with practical, high impact learning focused on nutrition, wellbeing, and performance.
Learning will be brought to life through compelling mission videos from Caitlin and Mark Wales (SAS veteran), driving urgency, focus, and real-world application.
