Year 7 & 8 Mystery Box Challenge

Leeton MasterChef, eat your heart out!

This week, Year 7 and 8 students were challenged with a mystery ingredient and just 10 minutes to research, plan and discuss what they could create. With access to extra ingredients from the pantry and fridge, students worked collaboratively to transform their ingredients into impressive dishes — and the results were delicious!

I'm a new title block

The Co2 Cars have been designed, shaped, sanded and undercoat has been added to the chassis of the car. Students have been learning about force, friction and aerodynamics to help design their cars. Racing colours have been selected and the cars are decorated.

Yr 9/10 Food Technology: Gourmet Hampers

After weeks of planning, experimenting, and perfecting their food skills, our Year 9/10 Food Technology students proudly unveiled their Gourmet Hampers this week. This exciting project brought together creativity, teamwork, and an understanding of the functional properties of foods and preservation.Students showcased beautifully themed hampers including Brunch in a Box by Ariana, Summer by Isabella and Tiarnee, Citrus Sensation by Candice, and Taste of Americana by Cephus. Each hamper reflected thoughtful ingredient choices, flavour balance, and presentation.Inside the hampers were a delicious range of handmade products such as chutneys, jams, marmalade, lemon butter, chocolate bombs, citrus slices, pretzel bark, and meat rubs. Throughout the project, students explored how factors such as heat, sugar, acidity, moisture, and dehydration affect the texture, flavour, shelf life and overall quality of food products. This hands-on task allowed students to see food science in action while developing valuable practical skills—proving that learning can be both educational and delicious! Keep up the Great work Yr9.10 Foodies!
