Dalwallinu Campus Update
Welcome back to Term 3. While winter is certainly making itself known, there is plenty to look forward to this term, with a number of exciting excursions and learning experiences planned for both our Primary and Secondary students. We hope these opportunities will provide students with valuable learning experiences, strengthen connections across the campus, and continue to lift morale and engagement for both students and staff.
As we move into Semester Two, our key areas of focus is improving student GPA (Grade Point Average) outcomes and increasing the number of tutorials being booked and attended by students . GPA is a measure of a student's overall academic performance across their subjects. It provides students with a clear picture of how they are progressing and encourages them to take ownership of their learning. Our current campus GPA sits at 3.25 , and we believe every student has the capacity to improve through consistent effort, effective study habits, and a willingness to seek support when needed.
Next week, all students will participate in individual GPA meetings where they will engage in detailed discussions about their current results, identify areas of strength and growth, and set a new personalised GPA goal for the remainder of the year. These conversations are designed to help students understand what is contributing to their current GPA and, more importantly, what actions they can take to improve. Students will then meet regularly with their assigned staff mentor to monitor their progress, celebrate successes, address challenges, and identify strategies and supports that can help them achieve their goals.
After completion of the GPA meetings, parents will be sent a copy of their child's current GPA and goals they have set themselves. Parents play a critical role in student success, and we encourage families to discuss these goals at home. Ask your child about their current GPA, their new goal, and what steps they are taking to achieve it. Encouraging strong attendance, regular tutorial participation, effective study habits, and a positive attitude towards learning can make a significant difference. Together, through the combined efforts of students, staff, and parents, we can support every student to reach their potential and finish the year strongly.
We look forward to an exciting and productive Term 3 and thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Introducing the Campus Support Team (CST)
Following a successful pilot at our Sydney Australia campus, our campus has a new volunteer structure called the Campus Support Team (CST), which comes into effect on day one of the new school year. This replaces the previous Campus Board and Campus Administrator roles and is part of a global initiative to simplify our volunteer operations while strengthening community support.
The CST consists of three members aligned to Pastoral Care, Culture, and Operations & Buildings. This transition strengthens community support, streamlines volunteer roles, and ensures consistent processes across all campuses.
Our new CST team is:
Sam Sprigg – CST Lead
Sam Sprigg – Pastoral Care
Adam Jackson – Culture
Rikky Sprigg – Operations & Buildings
We also have the following local support roles in place at this stage:
Kim Ray – Pastoral Support
Julian Wallis – Student Leadership Team Engagement Support
Matt Draffin – Transport Support
If you have any questions, please speak to Angela Mills or the new CST team. Thank you for your support
Principal's Day Celebrations
This week was Principal’s Week, and on Wednesday the students celebrated with Mrs Mills by sharing cake together. To show their appreciation, the students also created a special pot filled with heartfelt messages explaining all the reasons why Mrs Mills is so special to them. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to express their gratitude and recognise the care, support, and leadership she provides to our school community. Mrs Mills was delighted by their thoughtful gesture, making it a memorable celebration for everyone involved.
