I would like to sincerely thank our school community for the incredible support shown over the weekend in helping us transition into our temporary campus. The willingness of families and community members to give up their time to assist with the move did not go unnoticed and is a great reflection of the strong community spirit we have here at Dalwallinu.

It has been particularly pleasing to see how well both staff and students have settled into the new environment. The adaptability, positivity, and teamwork on display have been outstanding, and I am very proud of how smoothly the transition has taken place.

During the remainder of the term, I will be supporting the campus while Angela Mills is on leave. Our priority remains ensuring continuity for students and maintaining a positive and focused learning environment for all.

I am confident that we are well positioned to finish the term strongly. There is a great sense of momentum across the campus, and I look forward to building on this over the coming weeks.

I would also like to acknowledge our students for their efforts during NAPLAN. They approached the assessments with maturity and focus, and we commend them for the way they represented themselves and the school.

Strengthening safety across our global bus network - global webinar screening next Tuesday.

Next Tuesday, OneSchool Global will launch Precious Cargo, a new global safety campaign for all volunteer bus drivers across our school. This campaign centres on a powerful safety film that highlights the real risks our drivers face every day - fatigue, distractions, speed, seatbelts, and substances. The film will be screened via a global webinar at 7.30pm local time.

The film is confronting by design and reinforces the non‑negotiable expectations we hold for every driver, in every region. You can watch a preview of the film here.

Here are a few photos of our temporary school

Over the past few weeks, students have been learning about Parliament and democracy. They explored how laws are passed in Parliament and demonstrated their understanding by creating games that showed each step of the process. Students also discussed the type of democracy used in Australia and how democracy began.

Students were fortunate to visit Parliament House in Perth, where they participated in a guided tour and learned about the two chambers of Parliament: The Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council. They also visited Edith Cowan’s Foyer and learned about her contribution to Parliament.

The day concluded with a scavenger hunt, which students enjoyed. Overall, it was a valuable learning experience, and students represented the school wonderfully.

During our Cross Curricular Assignment students have been learning about The Roles and Responsibilities of the Australian Government. They are able to identify the 3 levels of government and the roles of each level of Government in Australia. The students created a Tri Arama showing the different levels of government and the roles that they do

During English, the Year 3/4 students have been writing their own stories based on a fear. They began by creating an engaging introduction that clearly described the setting, helping the reader imagine where the story takes place. The students then worked on building up to a climax, where the most exciting or scary part of the story happens, before finishing with a resolution that explains how the problem or fear is solved.

Throughout the writing process, students have been focusing on making their writing more interesting and descriptive by adding adjectives to give the reader clearer images and details. They have also been learning about personification, where objects or elements of nature are described as if they have human qualities, which helps to make their stories more vivid and engaging.

The students have been working very hard on their stories and have shown great creativity and effort in developing their ideas and improving their writing.

All primary students have the codes in their diary for Lexia, Matific, IXL and languagenut which they are able to go on and practice at home.

Reminder: Secondary Students are travelling to Northam Campus on Tuesday.

Our Year 10 students from Perth and regional campuses recently took part in a hands-on coastal care excursion at Cottesloe Beach.

Students learned about dune ecosystems, local plant species, and the importance of coastal conservation, while contributing directly by applying mulch, and assisting with restoration efforts.

The excursion provided a meaningful, real-world learning experience, allowing students to apply their classroom knowledge in a practical setting.

Feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting how enjoyable and educational it was to be actively involved in protecting the coastline.

We thank the Cottesloe Beach volunteers and staff for hosting us and look forward to returning next year.

Hi everyone! Were excited to share what we’re planning to start this term. This term as SLT we have decided to start holding fortnightly fundraisers to keep up the positive campus culture, this is a fundraiser not so much to make money but to create a happy, fun campus that kids look forward to coming to everyday. Last time we made pancakes for the kids recess and was a massive success so this coming Tuesday we will be making egg and bacon wraps for lunch. We hope that everyone will support and enjoy this fundraiser. It’s going to be egg-cellent, so don’t miss out!
