It has been an exceptionally busy week across the campus, particularly for our Year 7–11 students as they navigated exams alongside a number of important assessment deadlines. I am very pleased to share that the majority of students have demonstrated strong commitment to their learning, submitting assignments on time and showing diligence in their exam preparation. This reflects both their growing maturity and the support provided by our dedicated staff.

As a campus, we continue to work through the usual pressures of the school term, alongside the added complexity of our temporary school arrangements. These changes have required flexibility, resilience, and a positive mindset from both students and staff. While there have certainly been moments of challenge—particularly with recent weather conditions—we have seen our community adapt with determination and good spirit.

Importantly, while the rain has created some disruptions for us, it is a welcome support for our local farmers and businesses, contributing to the strength and sustainability of our wider community.

I would like to commend our students for their perseverance and our staff for their ongoing dedication in supporting learning under changing conditions. Together, we continue to foster a positive, resilient, and hardworking campus culture.

WEEK 7

WEEK 8 - No Travel due to exams

The students have recently begun a new assignment titled “Puzzle of Australia,” where they are exploring Australia, including its states and capital cities. As part of this unit, they have also been learning about different types of maps and the key features required to create their own. Using tracing paper, students created a layered map of Australia. Their first layer showed the outline of Australia, followed by additional layers highlighting states and capital cities, significant landmarks, and physical features such as mountains, ranges, rivers, and deserts. This hands-on activity has supported their understanding of both geographical features and map-making skills.

In Mathematics, students have been focusing on problem-solving skills. Any student who brings Miss Mackay the correct answers to all three questions next week will receive a house point and a prize. Students who attempt the questions will also earn a house point and a prize; however, they must show their working out.

The students have been focusing on Food Technologies, where they have been learning about food safety and healthy eating. This week, they completed a fun hands-on task where they created toast toppers and fruit-filled ice cubes. The students thoroughly enjoyed this activity and took great pride in presenting their creations.

Students should be bringing in their diaries every day and they should be reading for a minimum of 10 minutes a day at home.

Elodie is always listening and gets her work done in a timely manner. She deals with distractions maturely and is always very helpful.

Week 8 - Santiago Davies

Santi has been working hard all week and has shown a diligent approach to his learning. He is consistently completing his work in a timely manner and is demonstrating growing independence. Santi follows directions carefully and is always sitting on the mat quietly, ready to begin, often being one of the first students prepared to learn
