Hello and welcome to this week’s newsletter,
Last Wednesday, we hosted a campus visit from several members of the OSG senior management team. Dr Anat Hasner, the new Global Director of Education, was joined by Mr Paul Maher, Travis Hopgood, and Mr Scott Cantrell, who oversees our region from a Community perspective. Along with additional support staff and several board members, it was a well-attended and valuable visit.
The purpose of the visit was twofold: to observe the performance of our Student Leadership Team (SLT) and to engage in discussions about our current position and future direction.
The SLT represented the campus exceptionally well. We have always recognised that, as individuals, they each bring different strengths and areas for growth. Encouragingly, they are now beginning to understand the power of working together as a cohesive team. This shift is having a noticeably positive impact on the culture of the school and will leave a legacy far beyond any physical contribution. Their influence will be evident at our end-of-term event, but just as importantly, it is reflected in their growing maturity as learners and young adults—particularly in their approach to study, use of Learning Centre spaces, and engagement with OSG Accelerate. While there is still room for development, I would like to sincerely thank them for their increasing role in shaping such a positive school environment.
From a personal perspective, I found the experience both supportive and rewarding. It was extremely pleasing to receive feedback highlighting how welcoming, friendly, and aligned our staff and students are with OSG’s direction and values. While we may sometimes take this for granted, these qualities leave a lasting impression and significantly shape how our campus is viewed externally. Thank you to everyone involved, with a special mention to Fran and Lester for their outstanding support.
Finally, we are now just two weeks away from our Performing Arts event. While there have been some communication challenges along the way—often a result of the complexity within a large organisation like OSG—we sincerely appreciate the dedication and effort of all those involved, particularly our volunteers. We acknowledge that at times the process may have felt more difficult than it should have been, and we thank you for your patience and understanding. As this is the first event of its kind approved in five years, there is a strong desire to ensure it is a success and opens the door for future opportunities. This can sometimes require us to follow processes that differ from our preferred approach.
That said, I am very much looking forward to the event and have no doubt it will be a fantastic showcase of the talent we have here at Condobolin and at Mt Victoria.
