Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As we reach the end of Week 2, it has been encouraging to see students settle quickly into Semester 2 with enthusiasm and purpose. Over the past fortnight, students have reflected on their Semester 1 progress, set goals for the months ahead, and recommitted themselves to their learning journey.
Campus Support Team
As shared earlier this term, Brisbane Campus has now transitioned to our new Campus Support Team (CST) structure. This new model replaces the previous Campus Board and Campus Administrator roles and forms part of a global initiative designed to simplify volunteer operations while strengthening support for our campus community.
I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our outgoing Campus Board and Campus Administrator team for their years of service, commitment and care for our school.
We also look forward to working alongside our Campus Support Team leads:
- Pastoral Care – Clifton Caldwell (Lead CST)
- Buildings & Operations – Ben Millar
- Culture – Brodie Parker
We are grateful for their willingness to serve and support our students, staff and families as we continue to strengthen our campus.
2027 Subject Selection
Students in Years 8, 9 and 10 have been actively involved in the 2027 subject selection process. It has been pleasing to see students thoughtfully considering their future pathways and taking increasing ownership of their learning. These decisions help students align their interests, strengths and aspirations with their future educational journey.
Parent-Teacher Interviews
This week provided an excellent opportunity for families, students and teachers to connect through our Parent-Teacher Interviews. Thank you to everyone who participated. The partnership between home and school is one of the most significant contributors to student success, and these conversations help ensure we are working together to support each learner's growth and development.
Green Thumbs Farm Excursion
Our Primary students enjoyed their excursion to Green Thumbs Farm today. Experiences such as these provide valuable opportunities for hands-on learning, helping students deepen their understanding through real-world experiences while building connections beyond the classroom. I look forward to hearing about their learning and discoveries.
Year 12 Community Mentor Session
Today, we were pleased to welcome a group of community members who met with our Year 12 students to discuss life beyond school and the attributes, behaviours and habits that contribute to success in the workplace. Opportunities such as these help strengthen the connection between school and the wider community while providing students with valuable insights into future pathways and expectations. We are grateful to those who generously shared their experience and advice with our students.
MAP Testing in Week 5
Students in Years 3-11 will complete MAP Growth testing in Week 5. These assessments provide valuable insights into each student's progress and help staff tailor learning to individual needs. Parents can support their child's learning by encouraging regular engagement with IXL, our personalised learning platform. IXL activities are linked to previous MAP Growth results and provide targeted opportunities for students to strengthen areas for growth while consolidating existing skills.
Visitors to Our Campus
We have also been pleased to welcome several visitors to our campus in recent weeks, including Ashley Woolnough, Global Head of People & Culture, and Jakob Gray, Global Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance, who were at Brisbane Campus today.
In addition, members of the People & Culture team recently partnered with our campus at an Australian Catholic University careers event to help promote OneSchool Global and future employment opportunities.
We were also pleased to host members of the Communications team who met with a group of Brisbane parents to gather feedback on the upcoming OnePortal app. Thank you to the parents who took part in the pilot session.
Principal's Day
Today also provided an opportunity to celebrate Principal's Day. I would like to sincerely thank students and staff for the thoughtful cards, kind wishes and morning tea. It was a privilege to celebrate alongside Mr Tom Percasky, Regional Principal, who was also recognised on the day.
While Assistant Campus Principal Mr Shane Price was unable to be with us today, I am sure he will enjoy receiving his gift upon his return.
School leadership brings both opportunities and challenges, but it is a privilege to work alongside such a supportive community and play a part in helping young people grow, learn and prepare for the future.
Thank you for your continued support as we begin another exciting semester together.
Lincoln Barrett
Campus Principal
