Update from the Campus Principal

Dear Students, Families, and Staff,

It has been another exciting fortnight here at the Bendigo Campus as Term 2 is moving at a rapid pace. Here are some highlights.

Primary Excursion – Sovereign Hill

Our Primary students had a wonderful day at Sovereign Hill in Ballarat, immersing themselves in hands-on historical learning. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored, asked questions, and brought their classroom learning to life.
Experiences like this are invaluable, and it was clear that all students had a great day while representing our campus so well.

Cross-Campus Collaboration – Melton Visit

We were pleased to welcome members of the Student Leadership Team from Melton Campus this week. It was a valuable opportunity to share ideas and strategies focused on enhancing school culture.
These opportunities to collaborate across campuses continue to strengthen our practices and ensure we are always looking at ways to improve the experience for our students and staff.

Professional Learning – Tasmania

I also had the opportunity to spend the week in Tasmania, engaging in professional learning around the FISH Philosophy. This was an incredibly worthwhile experience, focused on building positive culture, engagement, and enjoyment in the workplace.
Alongside the learning, there was also some time spent hiking — including in the Tasmanian rain — which certainly added to the experience!
I am very grateful for the time spent collaborating with my colleagues across Victoria and Tasmania. These connections and shared learnings are invaluable as we continue to grow as leaders.
I would also like to extend a massive thank you to the Bendigo staff for the way they led and ran the school in my absence. Your professionalism and commitment ensured everything continued to operate smoothly, which is greatly appreciated.

Looking Ahead – A Busy Short Week

Next week will be a short week, with the public holiday on Monday. While shorter, it will certainly be a busy one as we make final preparations for exams commencing the following week.
We also wish our Year 8 students all the best as they head to Melton on Tuesday to test their CO dragster racers that they have designed and created. They will be competing against other campuses — an exciting opportunity to showcase their creativity, engineering skills, and teamwork.
Go Bendigo!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. I hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing long weekend.

Kind regards,
Christopher Sanders
Campus Principal

Primary spotlight

Dear Parents and Families,

Our Primary students had a wonderful time on our recent excursion to Sovereign Hill. The day was a great success, with students enjoying the chance to learn more about Australian history in a hands-on and engaging way. Some of the highlights included gold panning and, of course, buying lollies from the lolly shop!

A big thank you to the parents and volunteers who have generously helped with bus driving for swimming, as well as those who drove buses to Ballarat for the Sovereign Hill excursion. Your support makes these experiences possible for our students, and we truly appreciate your time and effort.

Students have also been working hard on their Lego competitions and Mini Museum projects. Well done to Claire and Isla for winning our school Mini Museum contest!

We are still in need of bus drivers and volunteers to help transport the girls to the pool for swimming. If you are able to assist, please contact the school.

In Cross Curricular, students have been busy completing a range of experiments. Be sure to ask your child about the experiments they have been doing!

Thank you again for your ongoing support.

Kind regards,
Primary Team
