Update from the Campus Principal

As we come to the end of another busy and productive term, it was wonderful to finish with such a positive and enjoyable Activity Day. Thank you to all the parents and community members who attended and supported the day. A special mention must go to our students, who participated with enthusiasm and a great sense of fun, and to our Student Leadership Team for their outstanding leadership and organisation.

Over the holiday break, I encourage families to take some time to sit down with their child and go through their Semester 1 report. This is a valuable opportunity to celebrate achievements, reflect on areas for growth, and set some clear goals for next term.

Parents are also able to log into OneSchool Global’s OnePortal to access Canvas. From there, you can view your child’s courses, assignments and the work they have been submitting. Regularly checking Canvas is a helpful way to stay informed about your child’s learning and engagement.

I wish all families a restful and refreshing holiday break. Please keep an eye on the school calendar, as we have several important events coming up early next term. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another great term of learning.

Student recognition

At OneSchool Global Armidale, we celebrate students who embody the qualities of our student persona. Each time a student demonstrates these admirable traits, they receive a Persona ticket acknowledging their efforts, and a positive persona house point is awarded.

Furthermore, every Wednesday, excitement fills the air as one primary and one secondary student's ticket is drawn, granting them the delightful reward of a block of chocolate. Congratulations to our deserving recipients, and may your dedication to excellence continue to inspire others around you.

Primary spotlight

As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, it is wonderful to reflect on the many exciting learning experiences our students have enjoyed.

In Mathematics, students continued exploring concepts of measurement and data, bringing their learning together in our highly anticipated Potato Olympics. Students designed and created their very own Potathlete before competing in a range of events including diving, bowling, skiing, gymnastics and figure skating. This hands-on activity challenged students to apply their mathematical understanding while demonstrating creativity, problem-solving and teamwork.

Our budding artists worked diligently to develop their oil pastel and watercolour techniques, creating some truly impressive artworks. Throughout the term, students demonstrated excellent skill, attention to detail and thoughtful composition, producing colourful pieces they should be very proud of.

A highlight of the term was our Geography excursion to the Blue Hole and Wollomombi Falls, two iconic landmarks in the Armidale region. Students explored the natural features and landscapes of these locations, making valuable connections to their classroom learning and their Puzzle of Australia assignment. It was wonderful to see students actively observing, questioning and deepening their understanding of Australia's diverse environments.

As the term concludes, we would like to congratulate all students on their enthusiasm, effort and willingness to embrace new learning opportunities. We wish all families a safe and relaxing holiday break and look forward to another exciting term ahead.

Term 2 Market Day

Armidale Campus wrapped up the term in style with a fun-filled American-inspired Market Day, bringing our campus community together for an afternoon of food, games, and celebration.

Our Primary students put their entrepreneurial skills to work by running a variety of sweets and games stalls, which were enjoyed by students, families, and visitors alike. Meanwhile, the High School students served up delicious brisket loaded fries with coleslaw and refreshing mocktails, giving everyone a taste of classic American-inspired fare.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, students wore American-style accessories, creating a sea of stars, stripes, hats and other fun themed items throughout the day.

It was wonderful to see so many members of our community come along to support the event. The day was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of memorable moments, making it a fantastic way to conclude the term.

A sincere thank you to our families, volunteers and community members for attending and supporting the day. Your encouragement and participation helped make the event a great success and ensured a fun experience for all.

Campus Community Support (CCS) Program

OSG Armidale Campus is inviting community members to spend a rostered day on campus to support the Campus Community Support (CCS) program. We warmly invite members of our wider community to get involved — including grandparents, uncles, aunts and other family members — in addition to parents.

The role of the CCS is to provide a positive influence for the campus and to support school staff in view of them maintaining and upholding the ethos and values of the community. An important part of the CCS role is to be seen but not interfering, on the alert and helpful to the staff and students at all times.

Community Campus Support (CCS) personnel must complete the Volunteer Induction including a valid Working with Children Check.

Staff are thankful for your support! Your presence will be noticed by the students, and it will have an effect. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Travers.
