Update from the Campus Principal

Update From the Campus Principal Albury 2026 T2 W2

Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums who know that motherhood is far more than just a full‑time job. It is the constant wearing of many hats — the chef, the taxi driver, the cleaner, the teacher, the nurse, the interior designer, the event planner, the motivator and the quiet problem‑solver behind the scenes. We celebrate your strength, patience, love, humour, and the countless unseen moments that make such a lasting difference every single day. Thank you to the Student Leadership Team for ensuring Friday’s morning tea was a success and that our mums and special guests felt welcome and celebrated.

Regional Assembly

Our next Regional Assembly is scheduled for Thursday, 28 May at 11:00 am AEST. The session will highlight Mission Nutrition across the region along with key happenings from our campuses. Please register here.

Primary Swimming

Thank you to the Primary staff, students, parents, and community volunteers for the collective efforts that ensured the success of the Primary swimming program. From all reports, the lessons were rigorous and well‑structured with purposeful skill‑building activities delivered each day. Your commitment and support made this a valuable and positive experience for our students.

Travis Hopgood Visit

It was great to have our Regional Principal, Travis Hopgood, on campus last week to showcase the many initiatives we are implementing to lift our Campus Quality Rubric Score for 2026. I will send a separate email throughout the week providing updates on these initiatives. Mr Hopgood said of his visit, “I had a fun day on Wednesday and Albury is going well.”

Year 12 HSC

All Year 12 students will commence the HSC portion of their studies on Monday 18 May. This is the last of the compressed curriculum cohort as we have returned to a traditional structure of teaching for all other cohorts. Good luck to Year 12 as they commence their final studies.

Mission Nutrition

This exciting and much‑anticipated mission is almost here. Mission Nutrition will be held at the Albury Campus on Friday 22 May. Students are to wear their sports uniform and be ready for a day filled with educational fun and excitement. Thank you to our Mission Nutrition team: Claire Cooper, Danika Aplin, Amber Clifton and Nick Collimore, who will lead the day with the support of all staff. Jump out of bed and run — don’t walk — to this event!

Campus News Albury 2026 T2 W2

Last term, OneSchool Global launched Precious Cargo, a new global safety campaign for all volunteer bus drivers. The campaign includes a powerful safety film that highlights the responsibility our drivers carry every day and reinforces key expectations around seatbelts, fatigue, distractions, speed, and substances.

Our drivers play a vital role in keeping students safe, and this campaign supports them with clear, consistent safety standards across all 20 countries in our network.

Families are welcome to view the film here:

Please note, aspects of this film may be confronting.

For our students, please remember the important role that you play as a passenger on our buses.

Here are a few simple ways you can make a real difference:

Wear your seatbelt properly every time you’re on the bus

Stay seated while the bus is moving

Keep noise at a reasonable level so your driver can concentrate

Avoid distracting the driver – their focus keeps everyone safe

Look out for each other when getting on and off the bus

We’re pleased to introduce a new way to share your child(ren’s) House Points’ achievements.

From 11 May, parents will have access to the House Points dashboard in OnePortal. The dashboard will include the reason for the award, total House Points they have been awarded to date, their current Merit Certificate level, and how many points are needed to reach the next level.

House Points are at the heart of OneSchool Global’s student award program, to recognise notable achievements aligned with our Student Persona. This year we are encouraging all students to ‘Go for Gold’ and achieve 60 House Points across the academic year.

Parents, make sure you have notifications enabled for OnePortal so you don’t miss the updates!

More information about accessing OnePortal can be found here: https://www.oneschoolglobal.com/osg-one-portal
