Dear Campus Community,

It has been a very positive and productive term across our campus, and it is encouraging to see the strong culture of learning continuing to grow. Our students have been engaging well in their Self-Directed Learning, taking increasing ownership of their progress and demonstrating a genuine commitment to their learning journey.

A particular highlight has been our Tutorial Competition. Our goal for the term is to reach 250 tutorials, and we are currently sitting at an impressive 203 tutorials completed. This is a fantastic effort and reflects the willingness of our students to seek support, deepen their understanding, and strive for improvement. We look forward to seeing this momentum continue as we push toward our target by the end of term.

As we move into Week 9, we are entering a critical period for assessments. It is important that both students and parents are aware of upcoming due dates and expectations. Students should be actively planning their time, ensuring that they are engaging in lessons, attending tutorials where needed, and completing tasks to a high standard. Staying organised and proactive during this time will be key to finishing the term successfully.

A reminder also regarding uniform expectations. We are currently needing to remind some students about presenting themselves to the expected standard, including shirts being tucked in, top buttons fastened when wearing a tie, and wearing a bucket hat when outdoors. As a campus, we take pride in our presentation, and it is important that all students consistently meet these expectations. With an important assembly taking place on Monday, where we will be welcoming regional leadership including Mr Paul Maher and Mr Karl Sharples, this becomes even more important. As this is a formal occasion, all secondary students are expected to wear their blazers for the assembly.

We would also like to remind students about the importance of respecting our campus environment. This includes ensuring that rubbish is disposed of appropriately and not left around our learning spaces or grounds. Maintaining a clean and respectful environment reflects the pride we have in our campus and consideration for others.

As we approach the final weeks of term, we encourage all students to stay focused, take ownership of their learning, and finish the term strong. There is much to be proud of in what has already been achieved, and we are excited to see our students continue to build on this success.

Over the past few week, students have been working on developing their Primary Skills: Planner, Communicator, Collaborator, Creator and Reflector.
As part of workshops in both Primary classes, students have selected groups to work in, and created a presentation about why our campus is the best.
On Thursday 19th March, students presented their work to Mr Easthope and Mr Reoch, to showcase why Toowoomba Campus is the best.
Well done to all students for their hard work.

Year 7 Food Technology: Focaccia Edible Artwork Project

Year 7 students have recently completed the assessment by creating their own Focaccia Edible Artwork. Using dough as their canvas and colourful vegetables, fruits, and herbs as their materials, students transformed simple ingredients into imaginative food‑based art.

This hands‑on project encouraged creativity, problem‑solving, and design thinking, and the results are both beautiful and delicious.

Year 11 Hospitality Students Complete Barista Training

Our Year 11 Hospitality students have recently completed their barista training, gaining confidence and skill in preparing a range of café‑quality beverages. From extracting espresso to texturing milk, they have shown strong technique and professionalism throughout the course.

We look forward to sampling the high‑quality drinks they are now ready to serve. Congratulations to Elissa, Sienna, Kyle and Toby on this exciting milestone!

Events will commence promptly at 9:00am.
Finish - 1.45 pm with announcements of Age Champions and winning House
Wear - House shirts with sports uniform and hat, bring a water bottle and snacks

We look forward to a fantastic day of participation, sportsmanship, and school spirit.

Strengthening safety across our global bus network - global webinar screening next Tuesday

Next Tuesday, OneSchool Global will launch Precious Cargo, a new global safety campaign for all volunteer bus drivers across our school. This campaign centres on a powerful safety film that highlights the real risks our drivers face every day - fatigue, distractions, speed, seatbelts, and substances. The film will be screened via a global webinar at 7.30pm local time.

The film is confronting by design and reinforces the non‑negotiable expectations we hold for every driver, in every region.

Handy Hints for Home Learning Support

Did you know that all students have access to IXL, a personalised learning platform that helps strengthen key Maths, Reading and Language skills? We’ve recently updated each student’s IXL profile with their individual MAP scores and targeted areas for improvement. This means families can now support learning at home using activities that are directly linked to each child’s MAP achievement data.

How parents can help at home:

Encourage your child to log in to IXL using their school account.

Once logged in, ask them to click “My IXL” at the top of the page.

On the right‑hand side, they’ll see a MAP icon – clicking this will open a personalised list of recommended activities.

These activities are automatically generated based on your child’s most recent MAP assessment and highlight areas where additional practice will help strengthen their understanding.

Using IXL regularly at home is a great way to reinforce classroom learning, build confidence, and support progress across the curriculum. You can also ask students about their MAP goals. Each student has had a conversation with their Homeroom teacher to develop a goal based on their MAP achievement. These will also help target specific skills that students would like to improve throughout the year.
