Term 2 - Week 6
Acting Campus Principal Report
I would like to sincerely thank everyone for the warm welcome and ongoing support during my first couple of weeks as Acting Principal. It has certainly been a busy couple of weeks, but I am enjoying the opportunity and appreciate the kindness and encouragement shown by the Swan Hill school community.
Our Primary students had a wonderful time visiting Sovereign Hill. It was a fantastic day filled with engaging learning experiences, fun games, and, of course, plenty of lollies. A big thank you to all the mums who generously gave up their time to join us, the teachers and staff who led small groups and ensured the safety of all students, and to Mrs Miles for her efforts in organising the bus and ensuring the day ran smoothly.
This week, I had the opportunity to join other Campus Principals in Launceston for a leadership conference. It was a valuable experience, and I am looking forward to sharing some of the insights and ideas with our staff and students over the coming weeks.
A reminder to our secondary families that students are only permitted to wear sports uniform on Fridays. When participating in sport on Thursdays, students may change into sports clothes at lunchtime; however, they must change back into their full school uniform afterwards. This is enforced across all Victorian and Tasmanian schools, and we are asked to keep it consistent for all campuses.
As we move toward the exam period, a little support at home can make a big difference in helping your child feel confident and prepared. Here are some simple and practical ways you can support their learning:
Create a calm study space, where they can focus without distractions.
Encourage regular study times each day.
Help them plan ahead.
Encourage active revision: practice questions, summary notes, cue cards.
Healthy Habits: Plenty of sleep, healthy meals and regular physical activity.
Thank you for your continued support.
