Hello OSG Southern Community,

We have had a very productive week at school, with students completing summative tasks, preparing practical projects for display, and planning their study for the Week 8 examinations. It continues to be a busy time as we move past the mid-term mark.

Firstly, we congratulate our Year 12 students on completing their Semester One examinations. This marks a significant milestone, and they now turn their focus to the second half of their courses, aiming to improve each assessment.

Next week, our Year 11 and 12 students will attend an Accelerate Course excursion at Auspan, where they will apply their work-ready skills in a real-world setting. We thank Mr. Ben Richardson and the Auspan team for hosting us and extend our appreciation to the board members who support our students and will accompany us on the day. Experiences like this are invaluable, and we are grateful for the caring and supportive team providing these exemplary workplace learning opportunities.

We will also see our Year 8 students travel to the Perth campus on Tuesday with their CO₂ cars. They are excited to showcase their designs and test their prototypes alongside students from other campuses. We wish them well and look forward to seeing how they reflect on and refine their designs.

In Primary, we recently welcomed Mrs. Cath Hodgkinson. Thank you to the parents who joined her welcome address at our online assembly earlier this week. Mrs. Hodgkinson has settled seamlessly, and it has been wonderful to see students continuing to work hard as they transition to a new teacher. As mentioned in previous newsletters, as we move toward the end of term, students may begin to feel increased pressure from deadlines, exam preparation, and fatigue. This can sometimes present as reduced patience or unintentional behaviour toward others. Today, I reminded all students of our core value at OSG — to “Be Kind, Always.” This means including others, offering support, modelling positive behaviour, and showing care through small acts of kindness.

We are fortunate to have such an outstanding group of young people at OSG, and we thank our community for their ongoing support in helping each student reach their potential, while continuing to prioritise kindness.

Hello everyone!

It's the end of my first week at OneSchool Global Southern.

The kindness, support and welcome I have received this week has been so lovely. Thank you!

I have really enjoyed getting to know the OSG students, staff and families and I look forward to building strong and positive connections with you all, to support our students and their learning journey.

While I become familiar with everyone, please know that I am so grateful for your patience when I ask lots of questions.

I love learning, as evidenced by the various qualifications I have completed and the careers, I have had prior to coming to OSG. My background is in Nursing, Naturopathy, Project Lead, and I have been teaching for roughly ten years.

Parents, please don't hesitate to come and introduce yourself to me.
