Jump Rope for Heart Celebration

This term, students across our WA campuses enthusiastically participated in the Jump Rope for Heart program, developing new skipping skills, building confidence and staying active while supporting a worthy cause.

Throughout the program, students demonstrated determination, resilience and a willingness to challenge themselves as they practised and refined their skipping techniques.

Thanks to the incredible generosity and support of family and friends, our students raised an outstanding $37, 591 for the Heart Foundation. This remarkable achievement reflects the strong community spirit that exists across our campuses. This also places us as the highest fundraising school across Australia by over $15,000!

The Perth Campus Jump Off Event on Thursday 2nd July provided a wonderful opportunity for students, families and staff to come together and celebrate the skills, joy and fundraising success of this year's program. It was inspiring to see students proudly showcase their progress while enjoying the excitement and sense of accomplishment that the event brought. Our Field Officer, Grace, also paid us a visit and was so impressed by the high participation and energy of the students.

We sincerely thank everyone who participated, donated and supported our students throughout the program. Your encouragement helped make this year's Jump Rope for Heart a tremendous success.

This term, students in Years 3–6 explored Food Technologies, learning how to make everyday foods healthier and more nutritious.

As part of the unit, students in Mr Bourke's Digital Technologies class created delicious Summer Fruit Toast Toppers.

They did a fantastic job preparing the ingredients, following the recipe, and producing a healthy, colourful, and tasty snack.

This term, students in each class had the opportunity to take part in our end‑of‑term Music Show and Tell, a special moment where learners share solo pieces they’ve been practicing independently.

Whether on guitar, didgeridoo, piano, or voice, each performer demonstrated creativity, courage, and a growing love for music.

It was wonderful to see students expressing themselves and showcasing the skills they’ve developed throughout the term.

We began our assembly with a showcase from our Music Show and Tell soloists.

One student from each class was selected to present a piece they had been practising independently, whether on guitar, didgeridoo, piano, or voice. Each performer demonstrated wonderful confidence, creativity, and musical curiosity, setting a beautiful tone for the afternoon.

Following the solo items, our choir students took the stage.

Throughout the term, they have been exploring the orchestral family and developing their ensemble singing skills—learning to blend, listen, and support one another as a musical team.

They also worked on singing in harmony and performing in a round. Their hard work culminated in a performance of two songs, delivered with enthusiasm and teamwork.

It was a wonderful celebration of their progress and musical growth, and we are incredibly proud of all our performers.

This term, in French, our Primary students have been learning about pets and how to describe their favourite animal in French.

To conclude the term, students chose a project to showcase what they had learned.

We are delighted to share a song performed by our Year 4 students.

Year 12 students developed highly considered artworks inspired by personal and inspirational narratives.

Through sustained exploration and refinement, they created meaningful pieces that reflect both technical skill and a strong understanding of storytelling through art.

This semester, Year 11 students explored cultural themes through a conceptual lens, using visual diaries, painting, and sculpture to investigate meaning and identity.

Their work demonstrated thoughtful experimentation and a growing confidence in communicating ideas visually across a range of media.

Year 8 Science students have been exploring the concept of heat, including its definition and the various ways it can be transferred.

On Monday, students investigated thermal insulators and discovered that different materials have unique properties that either reduce heat transfer or allow heat to pass through more readily.

Following their studies of convection and how heat is transferred through the movement of particles in fluids, students participated in a hands-on investigation on Wednesday.

By combining water of varying temperatures and ice, they observed convection currents in action, tracking the movement of coloured water and examining how temperature differences influence particle motion within a fluid.

This engaging practical activity provided students with a valuable opportunity to connect scientific theory with real-world observations.

Today, the Year 7 class proudly hosted a special morning tea to express their sincere appreciation to the volunteers who generously support our students and school community.

The event provided an opportunity for students to acknowledge the time, care and commitment contributed throughout the year by parents, canteen and library helpers, and bus drivers.

We are grateful for the positive impact these volunteers have on our school and thank them for helping make our community such a special, welcoming and supportive place.

On the 26th of June, we took part in the Sock It for Sarcoma fundraiser, with students and staff wearing their brightest and most colourful socks to raise awareness and support for those affected by sarcoma.
