Last term, OneSchool Global launched Precious Cargo, a new global safety campaign for all volunteer bus drivers.

The campaign includes a powerful safety film that highlights the responsibility our drivers carry every day and reinforces key expectations around seatbelts, fatigue, distractions, speed, and substances.

Our drivers play a vital role in keeping students safe, and this campaign supports them with clear, consistent safety standards across all 20 countries in our network.

Please note, aspects of this film may be confronting.

For our students, please remember the important role that you play as a passenger on our buses.

Here are a few simple ways you can make a real difference:

* Wear your seatbelt properly every time you’re on the bus

* Stay seated while the bus is moving

* Keep noise at a reasonable level so your driver can concentrate

* Avoid distracting the driver – their focus keeps everyone safe

* Look out for each other when getting on and off the bus

It is lovely to have visitors to our Campus.

If you are visiting, even if only for a minute, please sign in at the office and you will receive a visitor lanyard.

Please can you wear the lanyard so that the staff and students know that you have signed in and are accounted for.

Primary has had a great start to Term 2!

In the Year 5/6 class, we have begun a new novel study on Rabbit, Soldier, Angel, Thief, and students are already thoroughly enjoying it.

In Science, students have been enthusiastically exploring different forms of matter. We have just completed our learning on solids and will be moving on to liquids.

During Week 2, we celebrated History Week with daily quizzes and an engaging incursion focused on the First Fleet. Students learned about the challenges faced by the early colony, how James Ruse helped establish farming practices, and viewed some fascinating historical artefacts. Students are also encouraged to participate in the Australian History competition by creating their own Mini Museum, which is due at the end of Week 3.

Dear Parents and Students,

A reminder that the Primary Athletics Carnival will be held on Wednesday 20th May at the WA Athletics Stadium (Stephenson Avenue, Floreat). Students are asked to arrive by 9:10am. Please see attached documents for more information.

Parents are asked to give permission for their child to attend this event through the Sentral Parent Portal.

Catering options:

There will be a Boost Mobile and kiosk on site for this event. Students are asked to bring drinks and snacks to keep them fuelled for the day.

On Thursday 7 May students in Years 7, 9 & 11 participated in the OSGAware Child Protection & Safeguarding Program.

Northam was lucky enough to host students from Southern, Dalwallinu, Perth & Adelaide Campuses.

The first Workshop was Healthy Relationships and students worked in groups to discuss and complete activities throughout the day.

After lunch they enjoyed some lawn bowls at our local Bowling Club.

We’re pleased to introduce a new way to share your child(ren’s) House Points’ achievements.

From 11 May, parents will have access to the House Points dashboard in OnePortal. The dashboard will include the reason for the award, total House Points they have been awarded to date, their current Merit Certificate level, and how many points are needed to reach the next level.

House Points are at the heart of OneSchool Global’s student award program, to recognise notable achievements aligned with our Student Persona. This year we are encouraging all students to ‘Go for Gold’ and achieve 60 House Points across the academic year.

On 22 May, all students at OneSchool Global will take part in Mission Nutrition, a full day wellbeing event delivered across all campuses worldwide.

Mission Nutrition helps students understand how food and hydration support energy, focus, health, and learning.

The day is interactive and age appropriate, with students working through guided activities led by their teachers. This is not a normal school day.

Students will take part in hands on learning designed to build practical skills they can use at school and at home.

To introduce the event and build excitement, we invite families to watch a short teaser video.
