Dear Parents and Community,

Over the past fortnight, we were pleased to welcome Regional Director of Primary, Mrs Julie Murray, and Head of Primary English, Mrs Sarah Fothergill, to our campus to support our Primary staff. They were very impressed by the work taking place, particularly the strong alignment with OSG regional priorities, the integration of the Learning to Learn framework, and the effective use of our library space. Well done to all Primary staff and students, with special recognition to Mrs Chelsea Saunders for her leadership as our Primary Lead Teacher.

Our Primary students also enjoyed their Gold excursion to Gympie. This experience provided valuable opportunities to extend learning beyond the classroom, with students engaging in activities that supported cross-curricular connections. Through the excursion, students applied their learning in real-world contexts and reflected meaningfully on their experiences. It was a fantastic way to celebrate their efforts and see learning in action.

Weeks 7–8 also saw our Years 7–10 students complete their regional exams. It was a long period of revision and sustained focus, and students should be commended for their perseverance. A sincere thank you to our Secondary staff for their support throughout this time, including running tutorials and providing additional guidance to help students prepare and perform at their best.

Today, we celebrated the conclusion of the regional exams and recognised students’ efforts in Mission Nutrition earlier in the term by holding a Guzman y Gomez lunch for all students. The day concluded with afternoon sport for Secondary and art for Primary, providing a fun and well-earned opportunity for students to unwind and celebrate together.

This fortnight the Secondary Spotlight shines on Carywn Eade.

Carwyn has been proactive in seeking support whenever he is unsure about content, regularly reaching out to his teachers for clarification, assistance with revision, and feedback on his work. This willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, and take ownership of his learning has made a significant difference to his progress.

The commitment and dedication he has shown both inside and outside of the classroom have been outstanding. Carwyn has developed excellent study habits and demonstrated a genuine commitment to achieving his best.

Our visit to the Gympie Gold Mining Museum was a fantastic experience for all of our students!

Throughout the day, students explored what life was like during the gold rush and discovered how mining shaped the history of Gympie. They loved walking through the museum exhibits, seeing real artefacts, and learning how people lived and worked during this time.

One of the highlights of the day was gold panning, where students had the opportunity to try their luck—some were even lucky enough to find real gold! This hands-on experience really brought our learning to life.

Our primary students had a fantastic time playing Octopus Tag in this week's PE lesson. This high energy warm up game had everyone moving, thinking, and laughing as our “octopus” worked hard to tag as many runners as possible. Students continued to build their agility, spatial awareness, and ability to make quick decisions under pressure, with a highlight being our tagger fully embracing the role.

The last fortnight has been full of revision and extra Tutorials for all the Year 7 to 10 students as they prepared for the Semester 1 exams. Our school hall was turned into an examination center to emphasize the importance of the exams.

Well done to all the students for the efforts they have put in!

The 2026 persona program, OneSchool Global’s annual feedback and development program will kick off in July across OSG’s Southern Hemisphere campuses. The Persona Program is an important activity on the OSG calendar supporting staff to reflect on their practice, build on strengths and continue to grow.

The program runs across three phases:

· Phase 1: Feedback 20 - 31 July 2026

· Phase 2: Development & Goal Setting 17 August - 11 September 2026

· Phase 3: Growth 14 September - end October 2026

Parents are an important part of this program. If selected to participate to share your feedback, you will receive an email on 20 July from Qualtrics asking you to complete a short questionnaire on your Campus Principal, teachers or other team members of the campus. All responses are confidential and reviewed alongside other feedback to ensure balance and fairness.
