Update from the Campus Principal

Campus Principals Report:

Leeton Campus Visit

On Wednesday, we welcomed a number of visitors to our campus, including:
• Dr Anat Hassner (Global COO)
• Paul Maher (RDE)
• Scott Cantrill (RTL)
• Travis Hopgood (RP)
• Nic Doherty (EA to RDE)
• Alana Brown (EA to RTL)
• Elisse Hellyer (EA to RP)

The purpose of the visit was to showcase our campus and highlight the many areas in which we are excelling. The feedback was extremely positive, along with valuable insights on how we can continue to grow and improve as a campus and as part of OneSchool Global.
Visitors commented on the welcoming and high-quality feel of the campus, with one remarking that it “has a Sydney feel,” which was very encouraging to hear. This reflects the collective effort of staff, students, and community in contributing to our success.
Thank you to Rick, Nathan, and Tom for their time and support during the visit—it was greatly appreciated.
Dr Hassner also met with the SLT, speaking with them about leadership. She was very impressed by the students’ insights, conduct, and confidence. A big thank you to Penny for ensuring everything was well organised and catered for—the visitors were extremely grateful.

SLT Leadership
“It takes a community to raise a learner—and together, we make that journey meaningful.”
We saw this in action last week during our MND dunk event. The Student Leadership Team (SLT) began with an idea, worked collaboratively to refine it, assigned roles, sought guidance, and successfully executed their plan.
It was wonderful to see the strong support from our community, with many students getting dunked for charity. Together, we raised $1202. We are incredibly grateful for both the generous donations and the enthusiastic participation on the day.
A sincere thank you to everyone involved—both the ‘dunkees’ and the ‘dunkers’—for making the event such a success.

Exams
This week, students have been undertaking their exams. A question that is sometimes asked is: Why do we have exams?
Exams play an important role in helping students practice and demonstrate a range of essential learning skills. They provide opportunities to:
• Apply mathematical processes
• Revise and use persuasive techniques in English
• Interpret data and graphs in Geography
• Explain scientific concepts and reactions
Over time, we have seen a positive shift, with the gap between coursework results and exam performance narrowing. This reflects the strong focus on developing effective study skills and supporting students in creating manageable and realistic study timetables.
I would like to sincerely thank parents for your support in this process. Encouraging students to stick to their study plans and holding them accountable makes a significant difference.
I look forward to sharing the results with you shortly.
