Update from the Campus Principal

Primary spotlight

YR 5 & 6 MATH - Time

The Year 5/6 students have been busy developing their time-telling skills through a range of engaging, hands-on maths activities. Working collaboratively, students matched analogue clock faces with both 12-hour and 24-hour times, discussing strategies and helping one another make connections between the different formats.

Through teamwork, problem-solving, and mathematical thinking, students strengthened their understanding of how time can be represented in different ways. It was wonderful to see students confidently explaining their reasoning, supporting their peers, and celebrating successes together as they tackled increasingly challenging time activities.

Well done year 5/6 students!

Quality Work Wall

Our Year 5/6 students have made an excellent start to Term 3, with the Quality Work Wall already filling up with examples of outstanding learning and effort across the curriculum.

In our cross-curricular studies, students are exploring the importance of bee sustainability and the vital role bees play in supporting ecosystems. This learning has extended into Technology, where students have begun designing and creating bee-themed automatons that combine creativity with engineering skills.

In Mathematics, we are focusing on number concepts and developing strong problem-solving strategies, while in English, students are delving into characterisation through the texts The Black Cockatoo and Dirrarn . Through rich discussions and thoughtful analysis, students are exploring how authors develop characters and convey important themes.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, engagement, and high-quality work already on display, and we look forward to another fantastic term of learning ahead.

Fun Fridays

Every Friday (after Fitness Friday) we do some board games and puzzles for half an hour. These board games help us get ready for the day. They are also very relaxing; they help us with teamwork and build relationships with each other as all the primary play together for a little while. The purpose of this fun activity is to help us get ready for the day and build strong relationships with other people. By Kiera

Global House Cup

Introducing the Campus Support Team (CST)

Following a successful pilot at our Sydney Australia campus, our campus has a new volunteer structure called the Campus Support Team (CST), which comes into effect on day one of the new school year. This replaces the previous Campus Board and Campus Administrator roles and is part of a global initiative to simplify our volunteer operations while strengthening community support.

The CST consists of three members aligned to Pastoral Care, Culture, and Operations & Buildings. This transition strengthens community support, streamlines volunteer roles, and ensures consistent processes across all campuses.

Our new CST team is:

• Jason Thomas – Pastoral Care

• Dwayne Earl – Culture

• Rhys Young – Buildings

Principal Appreciation Day

Message from the RP

Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

I hope everyone enjoyed a restful and refreshing term break. It has been wonderful to see our campuses come to life again as students and staff return for what promises to be another exciting and productive term. I would like to congratulate everyone on such a positive start and thank our school communities for the enthusiasm and commitment already being shown across Victoria and Tasmania.

Celebrating Our Principals

Today 31st July 2026 we celebrate Principal Day, providing an opportunity to recognise the outstanding leadership of our Principals across the region.

I would like to sincerely thank each of our principals for their dedication, care and commitment to creating positive learning environments where students can thrive. Their leadership plays a significant role in the success of our campuses and the wellbeing of our school communities.

I would also like to acknowledge the many staff and Student Leadership Teams who have made the day special for their principals. These acts of appreciation reflect the strong culture of respect and support that exists throughout OneSchool Global.

Thank You for Supporting Parent Teacher Interviews

A heartfelt thank you to all parents, students and staff who participated in our recent Parent Teacher Interviews.

These conversations are an important opportunity to celebrate achievements, discuss progress and establish goals for the remainder of the year. The partnership between families and our campuses is a vital part of student success, and I appreciate the time and effort everyone invested in these valuable discussions.

As we move into the second half of the year, I encourage all students to reflect on the feedback received and continue working towards their personal and academic goals.

Supporting Our Year 12 Students

Term 3 marks the beginning of the final full term of schooling for our Year 12 students.

This is an exciting and significant milestone as students prepare for their final examinations and future pathways. While the months ahead will undoubtedly be busy, they also provide opportunities for growth, achievement and reflection.

To all Year 12 students across the region, I wish you every success as you commence this important stage of your educational journey. Your teachers, families and campus communities are all behind you and are committed to supporting you throughout the remainder of the year.

We are also looking forward to the upcoming Year 12 Motivational Day in Melbourne on 25 August. This promises to be a fantastic event, providing students with encouragement, inspiration and practical strategies as they prepare for the final stretch of their secondary education.

Welcoming New Leadership

I am pleased to share that James Mason will commence as the new Campus Principal of Nathalia Campus on 10 August.

We look forward to welcoming James to the Victoria and Tasmania region and wish him every success as he begins his leadership journey with the Nathalia community.

I would also like to thank Chris Sanders, Campus Principal of Bendigo Campus, for his leadership and support of Nathalia during the transition period.

In Tasmania, I would like to acknowledge Jeremy Dunham for his continued support in overseeing both Launceston and Hobart Campuses following the departure of Therese Turner Jones. His commitment and leadership have been greatly appreciated.

I would also like to thank Therese for her contribution to OneSchool Global and wish her all the very best for the future.

Looking Ahead

As always, I am encouraged by the positive spirit, dedication and sense of community that exists across our region. The achievements of our students and the commitment of our staff continue to make Victoria and Tasmania a wonderful place to learn and work.

Next week I will be meeting with our Regional Heads of Department in Sydney as we continue planning and collaborating to ensure our campuses receive the best possible support for student learning and wellbeing.

Throughout the term, I look forward to visiting campuses across Victoria and Tasmania, connecting with students, staff and families, and celebrating the many successes taking place throughout our region.

Celebrating Outstanding VCE Success

Congratulations to Zara Lindsay and Alanah Strange on their exceptional achievement at the Premier's VCE Awards.

Both students earned a perfect study score of 50 in VET Business and were recognised at this prestigious celebration of Victoria's highest-achieving VCE students.

This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to their hard work, commitment, and determination.

A very special thank you also goes to Jim Graham, whose outstanding teaching, encouragement and unwavering support played such an important role in helping the girls reach this milestone. Jim's passion for his students and commitment to excellence continue to make a lasting difference, and this achievement is a wonderful reflection of the impact he has in the classroom.
