Update from the Campus Principal

We have had another amazing couple of weeks!

Students have really settled into their work. Primary students have been really engaged in their learning, using the Primary LC very well. Seniors have switched into Exam preparation and are having a greater focus on long term preparation.

Events this Fortnight

Stage 6 Orange and Goulburn Collaboration Day – Goulburn Year 11 and 12 students travelled to Orange Campus for the day for another Collaboration Day. We took a lot out of the day and discussed things that both Campuses do well and recognise some areas for growth.

Mini History Museums – History Week Celebration

During History Week, our students proudly showcased their learning through the creation of Mini History Museums, and what an incredible display it was!

Students were challenged to design engaging exhibits that explored important moments, people and themes from Australian history, and they rose to the occasion with enthusiasm, creativity and care.

Each museum featured a range of artefacts, models and informative displays, with many students choosing fascinating topics such as the Gold Rush and Ned Kelly. It was wonderful to see the thought and effort that went into each project, with students clearly demonstrating their understanding while also sharing what they had discovered in meaningful and creative ways.

All students across the campus had the opportunity to visit and explore these mini museums, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Staff and senior students were impressed by the quality of the work, and the pride students took in presenting their learning.

A special congratulations goes to Acacia Gillies, who was recognised as the Stage 3 winner, and Florence Ohlmeyer, who was recognised as the Stage 2 winner. Both students demonstrated exceptional effort and understanding in their exhibits. We are incredibly proud of all students for the creativity, care, and enthusiasm they brought to their work.

Building, Coding, Creating: Primary LEGO® Lab at OSG!

LEGO® Lab is an exciting first for OSG, giving our Primary students a hands‑on way to explore creativity, problem‑solving, coding, and teamwork. Across several weeks between March and May 2026, students worked through a sequence of LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime and Scratch‑based activities, designed to build confidence and develop their Primary L2L Skills.

Their learning journey lead to the Final Design Challenge, where students worked in teams to solve a real‑world problem using their LEGO® SPIKE™ Prime kit. Each campus selected one winning team who then created a short video that showcased the team’s design and approach to go through for regional, and then global, judging.

We had lots of great entries at Goulburn Campus. Congratulations to Charles, Kingsley and Bjorne for their winning entry of a coin flipper. Please enjoy their video discussing their process and design. We wish them good luck in the regional competition.

From the SLT Team

Hello all, we are now over halfway into the term.

Week 5, Yrs 11 and 12 travelled to the Orange campus on Thursday for the day.

We all looked forward to Athletics last Friday but unfortunately was cancelled due to bad weather.

However, Year 11 put on a burger lunch for the school.

Week 6, the senior boys went to Hudson Park during lunchtime on Tuesday to have a footy game as our field is still out of action.

Then on Friday Yr 12 completed a first aid course.

Overall, morale has been good in the lc and throughout the school.
