Dalwallinu Campus Update

As we come to the end of Term 2, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their ongoing support throughout what has been a busy term. Despite the challenges and changes we have experienced, the majority of the students have continued to work hard, show resilience and make progress in their learning. I am grateful for the flexibility and dedication shown by our staff and the support from the community as we have worked together to provide the best possible outcomes for our students.

I hope everyone enjoys a well-earned break, takes the opportunity to relax and returns refreshed for the start of next term.

Campus Board Update

As another term comes to a close, the Campus Board would like to thank our staff, students and families for the way everyone has embraced what has been a very different 2 terms.

Moving from our campus to the Recreation Centre and then into our temporary school was never going to be easy, but it's been great to see everyone adapt so well.

A special thank you to Mrs McIllroy for stepping up while Mrs Mills was on leave, Mrs Whyte for everything she has done to keep our village campus running so smoothly, Miss Mackay for the way she has kept our students engaged and learning, Mrs Manual for joining the team during such an unusual time, and Mrs Mills for her leadership through what has been a challenging period for our campus.

We're all looking forward to moving back into our upgraded campus next term. There will still be more improvements ahead, but it's exciting to see the progress being made.

On behalf of the Campus Board, thank you again to everyone for your patience, flexibility and ongoing support.

CMP Update

Here are a few photos of our CMP project. It is estimated that it is at 70% completion and we look forward to seeing the progress that is achieved after the holidays.

Primary spotlight

Digital Technologies

For the past five weeks, students have been learning about food technologies and healthy eating. As their final project, each student designed their own food truck and created a healthy food item to sell. They then built a model of their food truck and illustrated their food on the front. The students demonstrated great creativity and enthusiasm throughout this project.

Mathematics

This week, students took part in our exciting “Potato Olympics”! Each student was given a potato and created a portfolio, sharing their potato’s name, strengths, and areas for improvement. The potatoes were then introduced and welcomed to the Olympics before competing in a range of fun activities, including bowling, running races, obstacle courses, splash competitions, and rolling contests. The students thoroughly enjoyed this hands-on learning experience.

Reminder

Students should be bringing in their diaries every day and they should be reading for a minimum of 10 minutes a day at home.

Student of the Week

Congratulations to our Student of the Week for;

Week 9 - Sailor Sprigg

Sailor consistently completes his work in a timely manner and demonstrates a strong commitment to putting effort into all tasks. He brings a positive energy to the classroom, always wearing a smile and showing a willingness to help others. Sailor is a valued and supportive member of our class.

Week 10 - Amalia Jackson

Amalia gets her work done on time and approaches class activities with a positive attitude. She puts effort into her learning and is willing to engage in a range of classroom tasks and challenges. Amalia demonstrates a strong commitment to doing her best and shows pride in her work.

Music Show and Tell

This term, students in each class had the opportunity to take part in our end‑of‑term Music Show and Tell, a special moment where learners share solo pieces they’ve been practising independently. Each performer demonstrated creativity, courage, and a growing love for music. It was wonderful to see students expressing themselves and showcasing the skills they’ve developed throughout the term

Choir Performance

Our choir students have spent the term exploring the orchestral family and developing their ensemble singing skills—learning to blend, listen, and support one another as a musical team. They also worked on singing in harmony and performing in a round. Their hard work culminated in a performance of four songs delivered with enthusiasm and teamwork.

To conclude the showcase, a few students were selected to present their solo piece from Music Show and Tell. We are incredibly proud of the confidence and musical curiosity they displayed. It was a wonderful celebration of their progress and musical growth
