Hello everyone and welcome to this week's newsletter ,
Although it is now a little behind us, I would like to begin by thanking everyone for their support in making our Celebration of the Arts Day such a success. While some people were more directly involved than others, there is no doubt that the day could not have achieved what it did without the entire team working together. The positive feedback was overwhelming, and the excitement and energy generated throughout the day made all the hard work worthwhile.
Personally, I was staggered by the quality of the performances. The acts were as impressive as any I have seen in a school setting. I am especially proud of our students, who repaid the trust placed in them many times over. The day was a wonderful demonstration of what can be achieved when a culture of excellence is combined with a strong sense of community and a shared commitment to success. While there were a few challenges along the way, overcoming them made the end result even more rewarding. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students, and I sincerely thank everyone who played a part in making it happen.
This term marks the final full term of schooling for our Year 12 students, with next term largely focused on examinations. There will be opportunities to formally farewell them later in the year, but for now I encourage all of us to support them in finishing their school journey strongly. Like any journey, there have been ups and downs along the way, but after thirteen years of learning and growth, the finish line is now in sight.
I have witnessed remarkable growth in these students across many areas, both academically and personally. My hope is that they make the most of this final term by working hard, preparing thoroughly for their exams, setting a positive example for younger students, and leaving a legacy that continues to strengthen and inspire our school community. Their contributions have already had a significant impact, and I look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future.
James Trimmer stepped down as CA over the holidays. I can’t thank James enough for what he has done for me and the school over the last two years. He showed support in so many ways, understood the needs of other people and was selfless in his willingness to improve the school. James will enjoy not hearing from me so often, but I hope he still has input. Your work is much appreciated James, it made a difference. Thanks also to the new Campus Support Team, I am excited about what we can achieve together and look forward to working with them.
Finally, I would like to thank all parents and caregivers who attended our recent Parent-Teacher Interviews. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity for genuine collaboration and meaningful discussion about each student's learning and future growth. One aspect I particularly appreciate is that the majority of conversations focus on improving learning outcomes rather than addressing behaviour concerns.
Thank you for your ongoing support, your feedback, and the insights you share. Your partnership helps us better support individual students while also informing broader school initiatives and improvements.
