Moving into Term 3, it has been wonderful to see such a positive and energetic start across the campus. Students have returned ready to learn, and staff have quickly settled back into the routines of school life, creating a strong foundation for another successful term.

One of the highlights has been seeing our new Secondary Learning Centre fully operational. The space looks fantastic and is already providing students and staff with an inviting and functional environment that supports learning, collaboration, and productivity.

We are also pleased that our two new staff members, Mrs Ayling and Ms Kramme, have settled in extremely well and have already made positive contributions through their professionalism, enthusiasm, and commitment to supporting students and colleagues.

There is much to look forward to throughout Term 3, with a range of learning opportunities and excursions planned. Stay tuned as the various opportunities approach us.

I would like to acknowledge and thank all staff for their continued hard work and dedication. The care, expertise, and commitment demonstrated each day play a significant role in supporting student learning and ensuring our campus continues to thrive.

Staff Update

We would like to let our community know that Mrs. Sharon Capon will be taking leave during Week 3 to undergo surgery. Following her surgery, Sharon plans to return to work from Week 4, teaching remotely from home for the remainder of the term while she recovers and manages temporary mobility restrictions.

We are grateful for Sharon's commitment to maintaining continuity of learning for her students throughout this period and appreciate the flexibility and support of our staff team in making these arrangements possible.

We extend our very best wishes to Sharon for a successful surgery and a smooth recovery and look forward to welcoming her back on campus when she is fully recovered.

Today 31st July 2026 we celebrate Principal Day, providing an opportunity to recognise the outstanding leadership of our Principals across the region.

I would like to sincerely thank each of our principals for their dedication, care and commitment to creating positive learning environments where students can thrive. Their leadership plays a significant role in the success of our campuses and the wellbeing of our school communities.

Thank You for Supporting Parent Teacher Interviews

A heartfelt thank you to all parents, students and staff who participated in our recent Parent Teacher Interviews.

These conversations are an important opportunity to celebrate achievements, discuss progress and establish goals for the remainder of the year. The partnership between families and our campuses is a vital part of student success, and I appreciate the time and effort everyone invested in these valuable discussions.

As we move into the second half of the year, I encourage all students to reflect on the feedback received and continue working towards their personal and academic goals.

Supporting Our Year 12 Students

Term 3 marks the beginning of the final full term of schooling for our Year 12 students.

This is an exciting and significant milestone as students prepare for their final examinations and future pathways. While the months ahead will undoubtedly be busy, they also provide opportunities for growth, achievement and reflection.

To all Year 12 students across the region, I wish you every success as you commence this important stage of your educational journey. Your teachers, families and campus communities are all behind you and are committed to supporting you throughout the remainder of the year.

We are also looking forward to the upcoming Year 12 Motivational Day in Melbourne on 25 August. This promises to be a fantastic event, providing students with encouragement, inspiration and practical strategies as they prepare for the final stretch of their secondary education.

Welcoming New Leadership

I am pleased to share that James Mason will commence as the new Campus Principal of Nathalia Campus on 10 August.

We look forward to welcoming James to the Victoria and Tasmania region and wish him every success as he begins his leadership journey with the Nathalia community.

I would also like to thank Chris Sanders, Campus Principal of Bendigo Campus, for his leadership and support of Nathalia during the transition period.

In Tasmania, I would like to acknowledge Jeremy Dunham for his continued support in overseeing both Launceston and Hobart Campuses following the departure of Therese Turner Jones. His commitment and leadership have been greatly appreciated.

Looking Ahead

As always, I am encouraged by the positive spirit, dedication and sense of community that exists across our region. The achievements of our students and the commitment of our staff continue to make Victoria and Tasmania a wonderful place to learn and work.

Next week I will be meeting with our Regional Heads of Department in Sydney as we continue planning and collaborating to ensure our campuses receive the best possible support for student learning and wellbeing.

Throughout the term, I look forward to visiting campuses across Victoria and Tasmania, connecting with students, staff and families, and celebrating the many successes taking place throughout our region.

We had plenty of certificates to hand out at our first assembly for Term 3 on Tuesday July 21st, what a great way to start!!

Congratulations to Kade for being our first student to receive a Gold Merit certificate, wonderful achievement!!

Congratulations also go to Anders, Saskia and Chaston who all received Silver Merit Certificates - well done!!

Congratulations to all the students that participated in the Australian Geography Competition in Term 2. These students received their certificates during Tuesday's assembly.

We would like to give a special mention to Leroy who received a distinction and to Anders and Archer who both received High Distinctions.

Excellent effort by all students, well done!

Our primary students began their 6-week block of Gymnastics on Monday July 27th as part of their PE program.

As you can see from the pictures the first session was thoroughly enjoyed by all!!

This term, we are focusing on bees.

On Tuesday, the Primary students, together with our new Primary teacher Mrs Ayling, enjoyed making their own bees using pipe cleaners, pom poms, and googly eyes.

They also went outside with magnifying glasses to search for real bees and observe them up close.

Although we weren't able to find any bees today, the students had fun exploring the outdoors and learning about these important pollinators.

Ruby got busy today and watered our herbs for us - thankyou Ruby!!!

This week in Food Technology our Year 9s cooked and enjoyed eating Mexican wellness bowls.

This week in Year 11 Food Technology Bronte cooked up Beef Ragu.

To round out a busy week in our new and improved Food Technology space the Years 7s made some delicious damper.

Jed and Kade proudly showing their creativity and scientific understanding by designing posters about cells. This term, students have been learning about the structure and function of cells in Year 8 Science.

By the end of Year 8 students will be able to explain the role of specialised cell structures and organelles in cellular function and be able to analyse the relationship between structure and function at organ and body system levels.

Introducing the Campus Support Team (CST)

Following a successful pilot at our Sydney Australia campus, our campus has a new volunteer structure called the Campus Support Team (CST), which comes into effect on day one of the new school year. This replaces the previous Campus Board and Campus Administrator roles and is part of a global initiative to simplify our volunteer operations while strengthening community support.

The CST consists of three members aligned to Pastoral Care, Culture, and Operations & Buildings. This transition strengthens community support, streamlines volunteer roles, and ensures consistent processes across all campuses.

Lions roar to victory in Global House Cup Season 1

The Green Lions have claimed the 2026 Global House Cup Season 1 title , securing their sixth championship since the competition began in 2017.

From January to June, students across North America, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Argentina, and Europe demonstrated the qualities of the OSG Quality Student Persona , with staff submitting 216,398 recognitions celebrating students who went above and beyond. These submissions highlighted attributes such as Living the Values, Being Self-Directed, Taking Ownership, Solving Problems, and Maintaining a Positive Attitude.

The competition was one of the closest in Global House Cup history, with just 227 points separating first and third place . The final standings were:

1. Lions – 72,333 points
2. Mustangs – 72,109 points
3. Bears – 72,106 points

Congratulations to the Lions on their well-earned victory and thank you to everyone for making the Global House Cup such a meaningful celebration of student achievement and character. We look forward to another exciting season ahead.
