Update From the Campus Principal Albury 2026 T1 W6
NAPLAN
NAPLAN (National Assessment Program in Literacy and Numeracy) is an annual assessment for Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9, testing foundational skills in reading, writing, conventions of language and numeracy. Conducted this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during Period 1 and 2, it provides a snapshot of student progress against national standards. Students do not need to study they just need to do their best on the day.
Senior Goal Setting
Our senior teachers Mrs Burdon, Mr Collimore and Mrs Clifton will be completing and encouraging our senior students to set Subject and ATAR goals. The quality of the initial goal setting is critical to ensuring the program works effectively and provides meaningful data. I encourage all parents to spend some time with their child to discuss these goals. Looking at previous results, subject teacher feedback, Tutorial booking engagement and overall engagement levels are all indicative of potential achievement.
Campus Quality Rubric
As we continue to strive towards improving our global CQR ranking don’t forget how you can contribute through Stakeholder Engagement. We are aiming for 100% observation of CANVAS, Sentral and weekly SDM checks. We will hold our annual Winter Evening in Term 2 where students will showcase their achievements and goals, but in the interim, here are some questions that may spark dinner table conversation. The goal of the conversation is to encourage ownership, initiative and reflection.
- What learning choice did you make today that you’re proud of?
- How did you manage your learning time today? What worked well?
- Was there a moment when you realised you needed help — and how did you solve it?
- What goal were you working on today, and how far did you get?
- If you could redo one part of your day, what would you do differently?
